Linehan is the real MVP

sorry you cant expect me to believe that Zack martin is solely responsible of this amazing balanced offense, everyone on that offense was here last year when we couldnt close out games by just running the ball.

Bingo. We'd be 1-3 or 2-2 at best with Jason/pretending not to be Jason, calling the plays this year, even with the new guard.

And unless you are on the Cowboys' staff, you are guessing yourself.

Unless you were part of the team meetings, you don't know if it was Romo, JG or Jerry who checked out of the runs vs GB for sure.

Exactly. Also, the blame should also be pointed to the head coach who allowed the audibling in the first place. Why not send Romo in to the huddle with two different run plays?

What's also funny is people are making it sound like JG was this genius architect who was responsible for building this years Oline and had a plan to do it with all first rounders.

Zach Martin wouldn't even be drafted by us if it wasn't for the Rams and the Steelers picking Donald and Shazier.

Gonna go out on a limb: they're probably doing that because he was the Head Coach during the time when the Oline has been architected. What's funnier is people pretending he's not for no reason other than they have such a vested interest in him not being capable of effectively coaching the Dallas Cowboys.

If you look at the 2012 draft, you can tell there was no real commitment to do so like SF had done before. And as I said, Zach Martin wasn't our main target this year.

Its what I call the perfect storm. Its when several storms merge together to create one massive storm. Its not only the Oline. Its Linehan, its also Murray, Romo and several other pieces of the puzzle start to come together to create that one massive storm. I think its just the beginning. Once they start to taste victory and a little bit more momentum there's going to want nothing else but to win. Thats how the team of the 90s became what it is. All the pieces just fit and you got yourself a perfect storm.

Target? After moving up for a Claiborne a year earlier, there was actually doubt that rankings on the board were mostly a best chance scenario and that Martin was the valid FPL (final protective line)?

It doesn't matter that he wasn't the main target. He was their first round pick.

My point is he wasn't a planned pick like some people and even JG is implying. It wasn't like we had a plan to draft 3 OLinemen with high picks. T Smith was the only one.

What am I guessing about? I am not the one making claims that Garrett needs more credit than Linehan.

I am more than comfortable in saying that I have no idea what the coaching dynamics are between Garrett, Linehan, Callahan, Marinelli, Bissaccia, or anything else along those lines.

What I am comfortable assuming is that arguments about credit -which in my mind I interpret as causation- are really insipid all or nothing/zero sum scenarios based on personal bias and fear of losing #ITOLDYOUSO. It speaks to nothing that actually goes on on the sidelines, in the meeting room, or on the practice field.

Of course it was a planned pick. They spent months assembling the plan. Just because he wasn't the top player on their board, doesn't mean the pick wasn't part of a carefully constructed plan. The same goes for Smith and for Frederick.

They have spoken repeatedly over the last three year about the priority of the OL. Repeating garbage like the above does not change that.

If JG really did wanted to build a OLine with the high picks like SF did, we would not have picked Mo in 2012 with our 1st and the 2nd pick. JG had no such plans.

What's been missing is the talented players to execute the plan. I think on O, especially the line we now have the pieces. Even free is looking a little better.

We have had the same offense as last year plus Martin. Big upgrade on the oline but not the total revamp of talent that everyone here seems to think. The main difference is the playcalling. Someone needs to know how to use all that talent and make the system work. Garrett wasn't able to that for many years. Linehan in 4 games has done more with this offense than in what Garrett has failed to do in 8 years.

I think people are giving Linehan too much credit. The plays we are running....aren't much different than how and what we ran last year....execution is different however. LInehan has been good. Garrett has been good. Maranelli has been good.........and the scouting department and GM? Didn't have a terrible offseason looking back at it. Its a collective effort. Still a lot of football to be played.

LOL. No he doesn't. He doesn't have as much to do with it as the OC who introduced new things and is actually calling the game.

So the playbook suddenly opens right when one new element is introduced into the equation after the last eight years... But it's not the new element that gets the credit. I guess that's just coincidence.

Matt Mosley was talking to Jerry in the "walk off" after the game the other night, and he said Jerry told them that basically, Linehan was the first coach in years who when he told Tony "Stop doing that", Tony listened.

Parcells has mentioned that Tony is the type of player that you constantly need to coach. If Linehan is the first coach in many years which Tony is listening to many issues about whats wrong with Romo will start to disappear.

Talking about it and actually doing it are two different things. Just because you want to accept the "garbage" from JG as gospel, doesn't mean everyone else is fooled/

Nevermind that the first thing Garrett did when taking over was blow up the OL and rebuild. Makes three first round picks.

Now why would someone want that all to be random?

I hate examining people's motivations. I seldom find anything good it seems.

I guess we can look at the evidence, or we can believe like jbell said that Zack Martin is the next Larry Allen x 10 and can do the work of 5 men.

lol now Jones is credible?

That demonstrates actions and words.

You're wrong. Deal with it.
