I agree with you totally Juke ,however how would you answer those who will argue :
he served his time for the crime ,and he deserve a second chance like everyone else

He served his time and can move on. That does NOT mean people can't have an opinion on him.

Serving his time doesn't erase what he did.

He is ok with the law - as he did serve his time. He is not however, free from public opinion.

Philadelphia is ripe for an implosion (as are we)

The Vick thing is pretty obvious. Reid is being forced into starting him because he would lose the team otherwise.

Which, in a way, means he already lost the team. Once roster decisions are made by majority vote, then you aren't in charge, the mob is.

Your assessment comes without foundation. Does that mean that you feel Kolb is an NFL QB; if not, which do you feel poses the greater threat for opponent teams?

I don't know if Kolb is. He hasn't been given nearly enough time to even begin to show if he can do it. One half of football and all the sudden the guy can't play?

Sorry but that's the kind of knee jerk reaction that is stupid and reckless by a coaching staff.

As for Vick I know he's not a high level, NFL, caliber QB. Yes he'll excite you with some dazzling runs, and have the occassional really good passing game against Detriot, which always makes people think all the sudden he's turned the corner.

Then the next 8 weeks you'll watch him bumble and stumble through the act of being a starting QB and not play worth a crap.

In the long run this is a horrible decision for Philly and it will wind up costing them THIS season.

PT, Haven't seen you in forever. Fear of being in the basement, I suppose. Now with a little glimmer of hope you are back to champion your support for Vick? The rest of the team is still not very good though. Good Luck.

On a side note, sometimes your threads remind me of good ol' Pittman4Two.

Pittman4Two and Talon are two of my favorite non-Cowboy fan posters here. I like them both.

Hahaha ...it's always good to get a blast of hot air from the past. but this time I must confess, yes I was here and yes I ate big crow in congratulating your teams control over mine last year. While it was a very bitter pill to swollow, I meant every congratulatory word I said.

I wish your team well ...I'm not trying to raise any unnecessary temperatures, so I'll leave the Cowboys chances to Cowboy fans. That fair enough?

I seem to recall that he was one of the only, probably the only one, Eagles fans who did show back up after the losses.

Talon is a good guy and a respectful poster.

It's funny how PT wasn't here at all last year when the team from Philly was swept. Bandwagoner.

While he's not my personel favorite, I believe Vick will be a perfect fit for Andy.

While watching some of the eagles games I kept thinking to myself, jeez, he looks like a young Mcnabb. If be stays with-in Andy's system, and you find some defense, you could be a suprise this year.

I appreciate your comments toward this opponent Eagles fan. I've always liked it here at the Zone. I've grown since my brief hiatus. Traveled to some other NFL team sites, learned some humility, learned how to ignore ignorant posters with provoking comments, overall I learned that if you are consistent as a legitmate poster, opponent team legitimate posters will respond.

I like where I'm at as an Eagles fan, a sports fan, a poster and a moderator. Ergo, it is a thin line sometimes when posters intentionally try to jerk your chain, but that;s where being a moderator helps to sith through football fan haters and focus on football fans who really have football related knowledge and are not obtrusive.

So I really do admire those of you who know the difference and respond accordingly.

Hello Talon...and you have to be excited with the surge by Michael Vick. One can not argue that he brings an intensity to the game that is electric. But, there is a doubled edged sword that will now have to be walked by your team. For better or worse. Michael does NOT meet the stereotyped and true West Coast mold that Andy Reid was going towards, specifically in the pre-season posturing. As he released Donovan McNabb and raise Kolb to the leadership picture, he had this in mind...so, there may be future and team direction changes to come as well. We all shall see.

I'm in no way in support of what Vick did. But what are your thoughts on hunting for fun?

I'm all for being respectful of life but let's do it all the way around.

I don't hunt and never have. I never really understood the enjoyment of hunting. Vick tortured and killed domesticated dogs which sometimes had to suffer at his hands or the hands of his friends, before they finally died. I don't hunt, but I cannot think of many hunters who torture the wild animals that they kill.

I'm not here to argue which animals deserve to live and which ones do not. All I know is, what Vick did is beyond words. I agree with the comments above, Vick will be in trouble again before it's over. It's part of his make up.

That wouldn't be something that PT would do.

Again, I was here last year at the Zone when the Cowboys took ocntrol of the Eagles. I wasn't a happy fan, but I took my beating and congratulated the Cowboy fan here at the Zone; Et al.

I wish your team well against the Texans.

Yeah, I hear what you're saying CCBoy. I'm excited about havIng Vick in lieu of Kolb. I'm excited about Vick getting back to football condition, and I'm excited that Vick may even be better than he was when he was in ATL. But it's way too early to forecast the Eagles performance in the long haul.

However, I am optimistically enthusiastic about the dynamics that are developing, and I hope that Kolb recovers from his concussion without any repercussions. I'd never want to wish injury/illness or anything negative on anyone under any circumstances.

Let's just have a great season and Hope both our teams perform well.

I would certainly rather face the Eagles with Kolb at QB than with Vick. Any sensible fan would prefer the less mobile, less experienced QB.

Playing against Vick or with him, you never know for sure which Vick will show up on game day. With our luck so far, it would be the Vick no one can tackle, the Vick who throws laser beams to receivers instead of the Vick who throws into coverage and decides he wants to prove he's a pure passer, passing up on the running lanes.

I get you! I used to cringe when I watched Vick throwing the ball in lieu of taking it into the endzone in that game you are referring to. But I had to take into consideration that Vick is really following his coaching and what he is instructed to do. I honestly think that was a coaching limitation and Vick follwed what he was told to do. Unlike the Vick of yesterday that would do whatever he wanted to do despite coaching.

I strongly believe that Eagles coaching has made the adjustment and have given Vick more flexibility in making gridiron decisions. We'll see ...

Nice chatting, Talon...but we have our plate full for today, and game time is just an hour away. Take care, Buddy, and enjoy as well.

Well for fear of getting too OT I'll lastly say this. Yes there is a difference between killing and torturing but the net result is the same. I don't know why as humans feel we can make the distinctions between what is right and wrong in terms of what animals are okay to kill and which aren't. And I'm definitely not on one side or the other. I'll eat a hamburger or chicken any day of the week, but at the same time I don't single out something Vick did as being that much different than what we do to animals all the time, for food or not.

I think the issue is a lot of people have an emotional bond between their pets (dogs, cats) and can't see that it's just not that much different when we slaughter all of these other animals for our own needs. Game, food, whatever.

how about 54% completion percentage in Nine years, have you not watched him in Atlanta???

Philly isn't going anywhere this year, they've cleared out age and are rebuilding, Dallas isn't going anywhere by the looks of things either, Kolb is your future, he needs the work, he's bided his time long enough behins McNabb, Vick beat Detroit, big deal...who doesn't beat detroit???

You're mistaken, because Kolb isn't their future either.

I think Vick is going to sink Philly's ship to the bottom of the NFC East.

If we get the hell out of the way.
