1. TO has already stated that the offense should try and get the ball to Crayton. He stated that the ball needs to go to whoever is open. All the receiver's are complaining, not just TO.2. TO is among the first that goes upto Barber after he beats out on one of those runs. TO has been praised when he blocks downfield for his runs.3. TO has been in the business long enough to understand that running the ball won't negate his performance at all. Liek I said before, the Panther's have a ferocious two-back running attack, number 3 in the NFL, and it no way prevented Steve Smith from producing. he was number 3 in yards in the NFL.

Funny thing is, Mike Lombardi worked for the woeful Raider's for Al Davis, and was accused by Art Shell of going to the media behind the back of the team, criticizing the coaching staff...The same people that are saying he is worthy are the same people that say TO shouldn't be believed as credible, because he goes to the media behind the back of the team...

Jason Witten was mighty productive over the last eight games... The guy averaged 50 yards during that time, posting 5 games of 50 yards or less. Only one of those at 50, the rest, either 0, 34, 11, or 44 yards. How about the drop in production for Crayton throughout the year and the ineffectiveness of Roy?You see the correlation... Drop in prodiction isn't just for TO, the whole offense suffered.... That points to another factor...

Im not talking about the last 8 games, I'm talking about the entire season. Witten, who was banged up the whole season, had 4 games under 40 yards and 2 games over 100. That's better than what T.O. did. #1 WRs should have more production than TE's, even great TE's like Witten. And Crayton? Well he just had his 2nd best season.

He needs to keep being who he is, Hos. I have to disagree with you. Talking only hurts insecure people, which means there is truth to what is being said.

we need players that will step up and play, coach, etc

I have not had a problem with anything T.O. has said since he's been here, I have not had a problem with anything he's said when he was in philly and Cisco.

The NFL, espn, media, fans, etc, who ever needs to get over themselves, if they cannot take a person speaking what is on their mind, the truth, then that is pathetic. This country is suppose to be about being truthful, and the freedom of speech.

But, to be honest this world is about being a liar(uh, politically correct), or you cannot/ should not say this.

I'm not going off on you or anything like that, just do not understtand this you should not or cannot say this type of stuff.

I've been a big T.O. supporter, but his production this season could easily be replaced. 8 games under 40 yards receiving? 2 games over 100?

That will be ignored for the most part.

And so will this.....

Is there more to his track record of behind-the-scenes criticism and/or antics? Or does his trail of dirty deeds die there?

There is NO question TO can still play at a high level.

The offense needs to become filtered more through the running game. TO will not accept a lesser role and will become a whining brat as the season progresses. I think he should be cut and the offense is run first and Roy11 should become the #1 WR target, with Witten the first priority.

My main in point is offensive philosophy change will not be allowed by TO with him playing second fiddle. So he has to go....

I could care less either way. IF the talks are real, then they are privy to more Owens behavior than we are and maybe he does need to go. IF the talks are fake, then Owens should most likely stay, the media would always find a way to make a story where one doesn't exist, it won't end when Owens no longer wears a star.

Here's Lombardi on The Ticket on Monday..

Lombardi talks Cowboys
----------------------------------

He says Wade must change if this team is going to turn around.

But I think Wade is only going to try and change because Jerry told him to or else he has to get lost. So I doubt Wade is going to make enough changes to where he once again controls this football team.

As for T.O. it's impossible to do what Lombardi says in here because the guy not only shoots his mouth off when the media is around we also know he loves gripe about things in meetings as well.

I agree with his take on Romo 100%. And I also think Romo won't be able to take his leadership role to the next level until T.O. is gone.

I cut him because he's not good for Romo.... TO is a weapon but he's also a huge distraction for Romo. No one will challenge him because they are worried about his ego....

What are the Cap issues? From my understanding it's a wash or better.

Thats the thing.

His "complaints" are warranted.
This team is underachieving and HE IS a WEAPON that is not used to help OVER ACHIEVE.

Its like having a racecar and only using 1st gear.

Thing is, T.O. has been great his whole career. Yet, he's never won a Championship. He sat there with Deion and said "when I get my numbers, the Championships will follow" (slight paraphrasing). He's got his "numbers" his whole career and hasn't won jack.

Just because you can say things, doesn't mean you should say things.

What benefit is it to do a mid-season sit down interview with Deion and talk about how he's unhappy with the offense and playcalling? What benefit did that serve to the team?

How is benefiting the team to cry to the media after every loss where he didn't get his "numbers?"

One last thing... people keep talking about 'if we cut TO, who replaces his production?'

We don't need a singular individual to replace Owens stats. The guy has had great stats the entire time he's been here and we haven't won a freakin' thing. Not even a playoff game. Seems pretty freaking obvious that he isn't the key to success.

I like what TO brings and think that he's a great player. However, at his age, he realistically has not much time left as a #1. His physical skills are not what they used to be (still very very good but not elite anymore) and he does not posses the great technical prowess (e.g., great route running) or amazing hands that will allow him to produce for years to come. Similarly, his ego will prevent him from transitioning into a role as a 2nd or 3rd option.

After seeing how the Giants took off when Shockey was out (and the positive effect that had on their QB), I have to say he should go.

Honestly, what I see here is that we will lose some fantasy stats but likely our O will still pretty well without him.

Well of course... one side will take that one way and the other side will take it the other way.

I think he feels that if he is producing on the field.. HIS TEAM cant lose. I believe that... he believes that.

Agreed - never won a championship. Marino and others also. Peyton, if not for lucky comeback in AFC title game, is more known for one and done in playoffs(I think its 9 times?).

IF the Cowboys and the staff cant figure a way to use Owens effectively then we all lose.... the Cowboys, the fans.... TO.... EVERYONE.

That is the real shame in all of this.

Anything can happen, but I believe it when I see it.

And I would still think it's a mistake. When I charted the games Owens looked pretty strong in the second half of the season and even I could see that he was getting open, just the ball wasn't getting delivered to him.

I trust Lombardi far over Mr. Blue Suit and most other reporters. But I'll believe it when I see it and I still think it would be a mistake because Owens didn't cause Romo to be careless with the ball and miss throws.

Can we at least try and trade him?

How bout the Raiders or Chiefs for example?

Put him on the hook and see who bites. :p:

As for T.O. it's impossible to do what Lombardi says in here because the guy not only shoots his mouth off when the media is around we also know he loves gripe about things in meetings as well.

For the past two seasons, Owens has been pretty quiet with the media. IN 2007 he wasn't even talking to the media and of course the media said "oh, he just not talking to us to GET ATTENTION." Give me a freaking break.

And when he refuses to talk to Mr. Blue Suit, what happens? They report a story that he was crying after a game because he wasn't getting the ball (when he was emotional because a family member DIED earlier that week) and then Mr. Blue Suit writes a story quoting a source 'who regularly speaks to Owens' teammates' saying that Owens is jealous of Witten and Romo's relationship.

I haven't seen one thing that tells me that Owens is the problem and the reason why Dallas missed the playoffs. If I did or if I felt that Owens was slowing down considerably, I'd want Dallas to get rid of him.

I agree with his take on Romo 100%. And I also think Romo won't be able to take his leadership role to the next level until T.O. is gone.

If Romo can't lead the team now, he'll never be able to lead the team. I was actually watching an old Packers vs. Detroit classic game on ESPN and they were talking about the relationship between Favre and Holmgren and Holmgren had no problem lighting into Favre when he made dumb plays and was careless with the ball. We don't have that here in Dallas and that's a bigger reason why the Cowboys missed the playoffs than Terrell Owens.

Well, I am talking about his last eight games. Wittens' production declined, the more offenses figured this team out. He was still playing and making some fantastic grabs, despite being injured, so it doesn't justify that much drop in performance. If he was so banged up that the last eight games his play suffered that dramatically, than Martellus Bennett should have been in while Witten rested, which is another mark on Garrett. The fact is, Witten's numbers declined. Further, you cannot even legitimately tell me you think Crayton produced this year, especially considering his production was almost nill, once he moved to WR number 3, where he faced more LB match-ups then he did at 2. Patrick Crayton, as soon as he became number 3, didn't break 3 catches, except for once. The majority of his catches came in the beginning of the year, posting 6 REC for 82 yards and 7 catches against Washington in the blow-out loss. Hell, he had 4 more TDs in 2006 than he did this year, and he was playing the number 3 receiver the whole year. Plus, he had four more first downs as a number 3, then he did this year with three less catches. He was better in 2006 than this year. The fact is Jason Garrett is the problem...
