Looking at the Standings with teams at 4-3 or Better for Wild Card

I don't like our chances this year, personally. I fear that we are just too young and that we may see more games where we lose close battles due to youth. Our season hangs by a thread; I could see us finding our groove, as it appears we are doing, and going on a major winning streak, or I can see us imploding and finishing 8-8.

the good news is we're almost at the halfway mark, having played very poorly early on, with only 3 losses, so to imagine the defense continuing to improve and the offense scoring enough points to go 10-6 or better isn't really that big of a stretch. We look at teams records or past records and assume they are very tough games. Heck, all games in the NFL are tough to win. The way the offense is rolling and remaining pretty healthy, if the defense can continue to grow each week, there's no reason why we can't beat any team on our schedule.

Eagles defense are statically far better than ours. We are not the same caliber as the Eagles at present (close on offense). I do not know how you came up "The Cowboys are up and down better team than the Eagles"? Do you have stats that support your claim?
We have a running game they can't match. Zeke is the great equalizer. Of course, if Zeke is out for 4-6 weeks, we will not catch the Eagles. Losing Hicks is like us losing Lee. It's huge. Their new left tackle can't block, and I see us feasting on that side of their line. None of their backs are good blockers. I concede their defense overall is better than ours, and if they can stuff the run they will win both games against us. But...if Zeke gets his game on with the o-line holding their own, I don't think it's too far-fetched that we take both games from them. We just have to make sure Wentz doesn't pull a Houdini act or two and score on broken plays. That worries me.

Because it's almost November and it was the first time we won 2 in a row. The eagles have won 6 in a row. So until we show some consistent winning there is no reason to think about the division right now

Meh. We reeled off 10 or 11 in a row last season and still didn't win the division until week 16 and that is because the Eagles helped us against the Giants. Why? Because they beat us twice. We still play Philly twice. Win those 2 games and we have a shot. If they had already beaten us, then I'd agree. The division is probably theirs.

But going forward, our offense can score on anyone. We probably have the hottest offense in the league right now. The DL is slowly coming together. Sean Lee being on the field is huge.

What sucks for us is that we gave away 2 games we had in the bag and were dominating at home. Back to back weeks. Even if we had just won one of those, the narrative of this team would be drastically different. And that goes for tons of NFL teams. It's just a game here or there that can change your season in either direction. I do not buy into this narrative that the Eagles are much better than us. They aren't. We can take them when we play them. We just have to handle business against the other teams. The Falcons game does not seem as tough as originally thought. I'm not a big believer in the Chiefs. Raiders are basically the Commanders. We still get NYG and Wash again. I'm confident right now we can make it happen.

Their LT actually blocked halfway decently yesterday. That OL was getting Wentz hit even before Peters went down.

Reality is right now, the one big difference between the two team is one team has a Top 5-7ish defense. And one doesn't.

I don't know, we were a field goal block away from being in real trouble yesterday.
That team was the second most horrible team we will face all year and it wasn't exactly a convincing victory.
If we take out the Chiefs next week I'll hop on the playoff talk bandwagon.

By that logic we are a Switzer fumble away from being 5-2.

You keep saying we play philly twice. Since the 2nd matchup is in week 17 it may not even matter in regards to the nfc east

The Cowboys are a different teams since the bye, players returning from injury and suspension. Since then, the Eagles lost their MLB and LT.

Since the Cowboys bye...

Over the same two weeks...

The Eagles beat skins and niners...Eagles are the best and on a roll.

Cowboys beat niners and skins...Expectations should be tempered because they've only beat two flawed teams.

Alrighty then.

I think that was his point.
If we beat Philly and can stay only 1 game back by week 17, then Dallas controls their destiny, most likely.
Big if, though

I am not an Eagles fan I am a NFL fan Cowboys are my main team but each year there are several teams that I get interested in , the Eagles are one of those teams this year, along with the Rams Buffalo Jacksonville and lately New Orleans I am impressed by their comeback.
I look at both sides I didn't say Dallas needed to win out and I didn't say Philly would win out.

I don't think Dallas can catch Philadelphia but if they do that's great. I think Dallas is basically playing for a wild-card spot right now but you never know.
So defensive. Sounds like you jump on the bandwagon of what ever team is doing well... gotcha.

Well since the Eagles would have won 6 in a row and have the best record in the NFL.............. technically they could be considered the best and on a roll.

Your post kind of stretched the truth. The Eagles do not have a very tough schedule the 2nd half of the year. Football Outsiders has their 2nd half schedule rated 22nd in the league. Ours is 2nd.

The biggest difference is the Eagles play a 4-3 team twice, we play a 7-1 team twice..when we play each other.

If the Broncos win tonight...Eagles will have 5 our of their last 8 games against teams with winning records.

We will have 5 out of our last 9 against teams with winning records.

Not counting our games against each other...

Eagles remaining schedule consists of teams with a combined record of 20-23

Ours is 24-27.

Big difference huh?

Do the Cowboys likewise technically not deserve respect?

I've seen too many 7-1 teams collapse later in the season. If people want to put them at the top of their 'power rankings', that's all fine and meaningless, too. I've also see teams that truly belong on top of the power rankings. The Eagles didn't even look like that even before losing two key players.

And it shouldn't dismiss the Cowboys potential as their offense is looking like 2016 while their defense evolves.

Plus, it's the (wretch) Eagles!

Easy to win 6 in a row with such an easy schedule. Plus it's funny how the Eagles beat the 49ers and people like you think that means something but when the Cowboys do it, the win is insignificant because it's just the 49ers.

Who are you predicting wraps it up before final game?

The eagles for 4 reasons

1. Broncos......No offense
2. Bears........No offense
3. Giants.......No offense
4. Raiders....No Offense

Maybe 2 losses out of this bottom 4

Cowboys
Cowboys
Rams
Seahawaks

So they will finish 13-3 or 12-4

So you must think the Cowboys do pretty good the second half of the season while the eagles take a nose dive. I hope you're right.

so let's say 12-4

assume that means 11-4 entering week 17.
That means you are predicting Dallas will be 9-6 or worse entering week 17 to make that game meaningless.
So you're predicting Dallas loses at 3 (or more) of the next 8 games?
