Two points here, and I'm not necessarily defending LT or condemning the Pats:
a) Belichick IS dirty, has been for years, and is often disrespectful of not only the opponent, but always with the media and his assistants (especially when they leave NE). Ask Mangini. Ask the NE beat writers that deal with him 250-300 days a year. His players have reflected that more than once the past few years. This is not to take away from his accomplishments because he IS a truly great coach and an HOF'er, but let's call a spade a spade. When teams win for a long period of time, the ones that become media darlings have the faults of thier coaches and players largely ignored the majority of the time. See the 80's 49ers and thier O-line's notorious chopblocking that ended a few careers.
b) The fact that a guy like Tomlinson felt the need to say something should catch everyone's attention. It should tell you that rather than LT being a baby (he is widely regarded as one of the classiest players in the league, if not all of sports), it should make you think that maybe, just maybe, the Great Belichick and Brady are not angels. I know thats a shock, but think about it. If Merriman had been b*tch*ng at the end of the game, no one would (or should) have taken it too seriously. I guarantee you that Mangini could probably tell you some Belichick stories that would blow your mind.
That said, once Marty didn't kick that 48-yarder in the 1st, I figured they would lose, but I held out hope till the end. I hope Manning opens up a can of whoopass next weekend, but we all know that Dungy's preparation and coaching ability is far from Belichick's level, so the Colts are going to need some luck on thier side. Belichick is a great coach, and a guy like Marty (and Dungy) has no business trying to get cute with him. His team paid the price today.
