Deuce only works when the run game is rolling. A change of pace back with a Pollard type leading. He is not a lead back. Luepke just might have the IT. Hard to tell but I saw something in some of his runs. He has good vision. And that may be all he has. Lol. Just hang on to the ball and go..

How many Carries does Deuce have in the 1st half of our games? How many of his carries are when we are up by 20 plus points and the other team knows all we are doing is trying to milk clock and Pollard is already sitting on the sidelines with his pads off?

Put Luepke in during killing the clock time up 25 plus points and just run him into a defense that knows on 1st and 2nd down you are just running into the pile and Im guessing Luepke wont be avg 4.7 ypc.
I really wouldn't mind it, though. He's built to pound the middle, even if it doesn't result in many yards. I'd rather see Vaughn used in situations he's more likely to succeed in, such as when we spread the field. His strength appears to be moving in space, so we should create space for him. Screens, dumpoffs, draws, etc.

But honestly, the situations we're putting him into we're not all that concerned that he makes big plays because we're trying to run down the clock, not score.

Man, to think I predicted he will win the OROTY award. :lmao: Chihuahua, Warren!

I don't think they have played his card yet even though he's been in the game several times. At this point with the way our defense is playing, I don't think you show your hand just yet. If he's not used more this game, then boy was I wrong about him. I'm not giving up on him though. Darren Sproles only had 10 receiving yards and 50 rushing yards in his first season, no TD's, 2 lost fumbles, in 15 games. Let's be patient, amigos.

It's a sick obsession indeed. I wonder if other fanbases do that.
I mean probably certain ones. I think because we sucked for a big part of the 2000's and late 90's people think they know more than GM's and scouts. I also think there's a small part of this fanbase that dislikes nepotism and thinks Vaughn is only here because of it.

Deuce only works when the run game is rolling.
That hasn’t been the case. It was rolling pretty good against the Giants. Pollard averaged 5.0 and Dowdle averaged 4.0, but Vaughn only averaged 1.3.

Welcome to the NFL Deuce. They need to work on getting him the ball in space on the move. Short dump off passes so he can get past the DL and into open spaces.

This, if asking him to block on passing downs, what do you expect. Get him the the ball out in the flats and let him work from there. He is not Zeke when it comes to blocking.

Yeah, I still like the kid and like the story, but he's strictly a gimmicky space back. Running him like a regular RB is too stupid to be stupid.

lol ... Hunter is " Beast" ?
He just maneuvered thru a hole that was already opened by the line.
It wasn't like he was John Riggins/Alstott bull-dozed and bowled over and thru any defenders
that the goal line (like Zeke used to)

you mean hard -to -find mighty mouse Deuce could not have maneuvered thru as such like that if given chance ?
I've always said Hunter is a big RB, than a power house FB ..his game is not power.
But of course, Hunter's fan mania will always make him as such.

Once he gains his feet (always looks off-balance and runs ahead of his feet) he seems to have some
run feel and his receiving skills is probably his best asset. Natural.
For right now he may be better suited vs blitzers than Deuce.

Deuce is not used to picking up blitzing, and certainly not at the NFL level.
It looked like he was actually confused about who to block. It's an area he'd have to improve but it's not
out of the question, as guys like Dave Meggett, Warrick Dunn have proved decent blitz blockers
despite their diminutive size.
Can see thw play was designed to go over LG, hunter made a great read, great cut back to right side....showed vision, footwork, burst

Same on his 3rd & 1 last game....needed 1...got 9

He will pop a long one

Just listened to Stephen Jones radio interview. He was asked what happens if they have to replace Rico Dowdle and the only name he mentioned was Malik Davis. That gives you an idea of what the team thinks of Vaughn. I’m not trying to knock the guy but all he’s getting is mop up carries in blowouts.

They are more interested in "I told you so" instead of the team winning or a 6 round pick possibly succeeding. A 6 round pick is not a reach. My goodness!!
That's simply not true. I want them to win. I want them to have the best roster possible.

Vaughn is a waste of a roster spot. He doesn't make this team better.

And yes, I told you all this would happen.
