One thing he said in his interview tonight was that all credit goes to Sean Lee. He said he is teaching him and Jaylon how to "play fast"... it is working!
That's the 1st thing he says in every interview and it's obvious he is not just being respectful to Lee.

Lee has similar praise for Vander Esch including telling the media that Vander Esch had the playbook memorized before training camp started. Lee implied that had never happened before.

Lee is going all in to groom his replacement. That's being a true team player.

Lee is a class act.. it is a shame his body couldn't hold up because he was legit on and off the field. I hope that Lee does take pride in watching LVE and Jaylon come through and then takes on a coaching gig because he clearly has the skills.. both those guys playing out of their skin this year.

Very exciting times for our defence.

I would still rather have Ridley. Ridley was the right pick. We could have moved back up to select LVE elsewhere. His pick will always leave a rotten taste in my mouth

You would of had to jump infront of Tennessee(#22) to draft LVE.

They wanted him a lot too but knew the Cowboys were set on him.

Would of been "Cheaper" draft pick wise to take LVE at 19 and then taken Ridley at 25.

I disliked the pick b/c I thought ridley was more of a need. I wasn't wrong, BUT, LVE looks like he's going to become a perennial all-pro LB who can stay healthy.

Our 1st round draft pick is a thing of beauty. I can’t believe we are better with a rookie replacing Sean Lee, but that is unquestionably the case. LVE should be Defensive Rookie of the Year.
At times he looks like a bigger healthier version of Sean Lee

If we had a good QB, I would say Ridley would have been the better pick. However since we have Dak, no way would Ridley be as good for this team as has been LVE. So LVE is actually the best pick Dallas could have made given their circumstances.

Lee makes that tackle in his sleep. You know our defense is better when Sean Lee is on the field right?
not this year. Lee has made some plays but I think all the leg injuries have slowed him a step. look through all the film and he gets to the spot but is usually a step late and struggles to stop the ball carrier, they go down but usually after dragging lee 1 or 2 yards.

I like how his tackles are low impact, but get the runner on the ground. Doesn't matter how strong you are, you aren't getting anywhere if LVE has you by the feet. Going for kill shots puts a toll on your body and risks injury
Ask Agoholor about how Low impact his tackles were....

The sideline stop through 3 blockers saved the game. That win is his. Scary thing is that he will get much better.

But if we had taken Ridley, then we don't have to make the Amari Cooper trade and we still have our 1st round pick next year. Ridley and Amari Cooper are almost the same guy. When Cooper left Bama, nobody noticed b/c Ridley stepped right in and did the same kind of things.

LVE is working out nicely though.

LVE is a much better pick for this team then Ridley would’ve been.

Dak is still awful at throwing so there is no way Ridley could make much of an impact compared to what LVE is doing.

Its about the first round pick, not the player.

What's Calvin Ridley done all year? He plays opposite Julio Jones and has had average production. Not overly impressed

Well I’m not a fan of the Cooper trade but Cooper is more talented then Ridley and we have LVE too.

I liked the the 2nd and 3rd round guys as much as Ridley and so far I feel validated in my thinking that Calvin Ridley was bad value in the first round compared to the type of player you could get later.

I've been watching both guys since they were freshman at Bama and there isn't a whole lot of difference between the 2 in terms of what Dak can do with a WR. I think Cooper is a little faster but Dak can't hit those go routes up the sideline anyway. Both guys get plenty of separation ect. Cooper is due a salary of 14 million next year and a huge contract extension. So, the choice is Ridley, a cheap contract for the next 4 years, and a 1st round pick, OR Cooper , a huge cap hit, and a lost first round pick.

Regardless, we have a very probable 10 plus year pro bowl lb, with some all pro years sprinkled in
As jimmy Johnson said the team needs as he took r.maryland #1

If Jimmy was pulling the strings, there would be a whole lot less questioning. The 1991 draft is one of the worst in league history. Maryland was actually the best player then and looking back now. We had the 1st and 12th picks in round 1, and Jimmy found the only 2 guys who panned out.
