We'll see.

I would love to compare there numbers if Gallup had a QB that could throw. Gallup has more upside IMO because he's a better athlete.

I think you're really selling Gallups talent short.

Courtland Sutton is another guy I liked better because of where we could get him vs where we could Ridley.

All of these guys are comparable to Ridley with more upside IMO and could be had later on.

Its a first round talent vs a 3rd round talent. So, you can't make the upside potential argument. Gallup put up big numbers in college and he still went in round 3 after all the testing.

You're wrong. Lee has been making plays like that (when healthy) his entire career. I think LVE is great but you don't have to tear someone else down to appreciate what the rook has done. Great job LVE. Lee is our LB's coach next year.
very true its like the ROMO Dak arguments no need to say that we all know Lee is one of the best LBs weve ever had and hes teaching LVE as LVE had said in about 5 Interviews this week..hes in the film room on the practice failed and in games between plays actually coaching these guys.. dont think for minute like when Romo and Sanchez were here in 2016 as the ghost coaches in Daks ear that didnt help him, hows he been since?

I hope lee takes hometown discount and plays one more year announcing his retirement after so we can give him a proper send off, not sure he wants to coach later but stop disrespecting one of the best Cowboys on and off the field..

Nothing about that guy just stands out as way better than Gallup and a sure #1 vs Gallup being a sure #2.

I am not comparing Gallup to Ridley. There is not point. You compare Ridley to what we picked in his place. And a LB with LVE's potential, size, and skill set is almost at the value of a QB. Gallup looks pretty good.

Antonio Brown was a 6th-round pick.

Gallup could end up being better than Ridley in the end. Happens all the time.

Most 1st-round receivers are colossal busts.

I get your logic but I just don't think it applies.

Ridley was an average athlete and just viewed as a safe pick. Talent was never really his thing. It was the safeness of the pick.

A guy like Courtland Sutton was viewed as a guy with more bust potential but more boom potential.

That is why they were selected where they were.

Ridley was the far superior college player but if Gallup or Sutton is playing at Alabama and Ridley is playing at Colorado State or SMU I wonder how much that would've changed their draft status.

Our 1st round draft pick is a thing of beauty. I can’t believe we are better with a rookie replacing Sean Lee, but that is unquestionably the case. LVE should be Defensive Rookie of the Year.

The dude is playing way beyond my expectations. What aggravates me now is that we took Taco over TJ Watt. If they're both going to be injury prone, I'd rather have Watt. How about Chido making up for a rough last week? That one play he made on Jeffrey was outstanding.

It is too early to tell on taco. He came in with a really nice frame, but needed development. After a few years of or weight gain, growing into his body, and learning pass rush moves, he might turn out to be very solid. Who knows though.

I agree with you and I understand why we drafter him at that time. I still think he will eventually come around too. I'm just speaking in hindsight. At that time I didn't even consider a Gregory return. But with a healthy Gregory, DLaw, and Irving, in hindsight we would be better off with Watt over Taco.

Most 1st-round receivers are colossal busts.

More 3rd round wrs are busts. The liklihood of stardom decreases in every round. So, at this point, you can't say that Gallup is more likely to be a success than Ridely, particularly now when Ridley is doing much better than Gallup.

Yes, there are exceptions. Romo wasn't drafted at all.

I dont actually know much about watt, and I have not watched much of the steelers, but isnt he more of a 3-4 lb?

Ridley has never been an average athlete. He's a much faster version of Gallup.

If you look at the past 3-4 years, about 90% of the receivers in the 1st round have been busts.

A ton of Colemans, Moncriefs, Rosses, etc.

The only issue I had with him was his ability to not be able to get off blocks. That being said he has taken to the coaching and using his hands to shed blocks and has really developed in that area.

What's even better is the great chemistry he has with Jaylon. Those two really like playing together.
I loved the pick when it happened. I wanted Derwin and hoped we traded up but lve was the right move. When lee goes out our d has sucked. This pick is huge. He’s learning from Sean and plying with jaylon. Like collinsworth said for years to come we’re set at lb

Whatever the bust % is in round 1, it is much higher in round 3. Thats the point.
