Tag was ignoring the problem of Pacman and company and Goodell was pretty much mandated to deal with it. You guys so convienently forget how it was that the PLAYERS were asking the COmmish to get hard core on all the thugs. He did just what was asked of him by the players and in response to public pressure.

Khiladi and the other wannabe lawyer types just do not get it:

The NFL is a PR world. Public perception is considered critical. That is why all player contracts pretty much state that the Commish is the final authority on all disciplinary matters. No one forces them to sign their contracts. They accept it once they sign on the dotted line. And once they do then they no longer have a right to do what they want on their own time IF IT GETS PUBLIC and gets attention. Pacman and company have been VERY PUBLIC.

Well I would hope we should be able to handle Cleveland and Philly without him. I and I would think the team would have to prepare for the season as though he wasn't part of the equation. Because he may not be.

I would just hate to see us get fined for it. But if that happens then Jerry has nobody to blame but himself on that one. But hey at least he fills the seats in the stadium, so he can afford it.;)

Is it me or does anyone else wish Tagliabue was still commissioner?
