Yes, they can only go as far as the systems available allow them to. Do you think what they do now was possible on the original playstation

Actually, I should apologize, Madden 95 had better fundamentals than madden 05. Because of what you said, the capabilities. In 95, they knew they couldnt do a lot of stuff so they stuck to solid gameplay. Then, when the ps2 came out, they thought they could just screw it all up. Plus, do you really think that in 03, or 02, or around that time, the idea of a QB cone for "realism" wasnt ever mentioned? What about a hitstick? These ideas are layed out but they are implemented years later so they can have some excuse to call the game "new".

Only if you are awful at the game. It allows for a human element of thinking combined with gameplay that most sports games lack greatly.

Actually, my average score in all madden is 48-13. Plus, as for the player getting more involved, I can see why they would do that, but madden does NOT do that. Many times, the guy on your team is already making their move to back away from the ball to let the WR get the ball. Or if you actually do try to cut it off, there is a penalty for PI. Also with my "parrenial pro-bowl" CB, he got flat out beat in my season about 8-10 times with deep passes. Then as I try to recover as him, the Saftey or other corner takes a pathetic angle of pursuit.

I happen to think that madden is one of the best, and if you want a broadcast go watch TV.

Simply wrong. You know, if thats how you think of it, why even bother adding anything that doesnt add directly to the playing of the football game in madden? I know why, because it puts different facets in the game that actually GO THE EXTRA STEP. It tries to put you in the experience, unlike madden with its dry presentation.

Yes, and i dont ever get stopped on madden so i score a TD every play. This argument makes no sense as wrap ups, shoelace tackles, and double teams happen constantly. The hit stick allows once again for the human element to come more into play while adding a fun effect.

Really, never get tackled? It was hard to read passed that ridiculous statement as it shows your credibility, but I did to humor you. Yes, they do happen "constantly" but thats about 70% of the time. The other 30% you magically bounce off, and this isnt when you simply get bullied out of tackling someone if they tuck the ball in (which should be able to tackle a little easier than what they game says), its when you simply slide off them when there is NO effect on the ballhandler whatsoever. Or, when I am the blitzing LB and come down and somehow Kyle Boler gets "pushed" foward by a man trying to kill him. About 5-8 times a game I stop the play to do a reply and see how bad the tackling is.

and your a Commander fan so your perspective of what is good is wrong anyways lol
lOL!!!!

There are a few things that 2K has had before Madden which EA took and touted as their own.

1 ) Double WRs during prep or on the fly.

2 ) Hot blitz , move to man from zone easily. Everything touted in the " Defensive playmaker " 2K had before Madden.

3 ) Maximum Passing has been with 2K ever since the first game. You can lead a WR anywhere you want to squeeze the ball in. Got a DB running sride for stride on a streak? No problem. Throw the ball behind and to the outside and watch your WR come down with it.

Not to mention 2K has an awesome running game. Bettis runs like Bettis and Warrick Dunn runs like himself. The best way to tackle a power back is to wrap him up and let either the CPU clean up the play or you can switch players and finish it. Gang tackles .. A thing of beauty. You can also not expect to run over people with Dunn or juke people with Bettis.

Supieror defensive line play. You can speed rush , club , rip , swim , spin or bull rush. All with beautiful animations that fir the moment. Going to try to jump and swat the ball at the line? You may get it but eiter way you will be pancaked soon after you leave your feet.

RBs are actually smart since they stay in for a second incase of a blitz and if there isnt they continure their route.

A good defensive game without the defense making super jump swats or run as fast as flash to catch up to a WR while the ball is in the air. You see.. 2K actually has smart players instead of having the CPU psychic and with super human powers being touted as good AI.

Better player control with 2K.

Oh and guess what... 2K has all of the penatlies unlike Madden. What about having all of the running moves and more control over what happens?

Anything you think Madden does well 2K does better and more realisticly and then some.

If you want great graphics and realistic gameplay you want 2K.

If you want an arcade game with average graphics and unrealistic and robotic gameplay you want Madden.

Doesnt really matter anymore though since EA got scared and bought the rights to the NFL. Although there is a very simple way around that if 2K wanted to make a football game.

But, I'll probably go pick it up today. There's nothing that could unseat Madden for me, it's tradition, but if I can get this, and be playing with TO and Ayodele and Vanderjagt until Madden comes out, why not? I'll give it a try.
yea man...that in itself makes the game worth while
not only wud u b playin w/ TO and vanderjagt and other FA pickups
but skyler greeen, carpenter, fasano, hatcher ( u get the point)

but dont jus play it once and give up on it
give it some time to get used to it

I was a Madden freak untill 2k came out. I just liked it better.

I think the competition between these two companies was only making it better for all of us.
Tecmo Bowl, (1991) is still one of my fav football games too lol....

...I bought Madden 2003 for the kids on their GameCube. I don't want them playing on the computers. Bad enough there's the GameCube and TV.

What do I do to get the newest rosters for the kids on their GC? Can I get 2K for GC also?

Dave, No 2k for the GameCube.

But do some researches on Madden roster updates. They're all over the place.

You just download the file, copy it over to the Action Replay for the GC, and load it onto the GC via Action Replay.

Voila. Instant Madden 07 ...

But I would definitely recommend getting the Xbox ... esp for NFL 2k5. The game is brilliant. The rosters are out of date, but you can download updated rosters via Action Replay for the Xbox, and have NFL 2k7 in an instant.

How's Kathy? I miss her.
