Making the Playoffs Could Hurt

It is likely the Cowboys make the playoffs as the winner of the NFC Least but doubt they go far. I think JG is still let go of short of an NFC championship game. While the Cowboys are messing around that will put them a week behind starting the hunt for a new head coach. It will also put us deeper in the draft. I’ll never want the Eagles to win or the Cowboys to lose but it sure would help things if Eagles went on a winning streak and Cowboys lost a few.
NO NOPE NADA no way do I want losses just for draft position.. its not how this works..

we lead the division regardless of situation and have 4 left to salvage this year..winning the division and making he playoffs is always first goal..its in sight..once in you never know what happens. you play to WIN THE GAMES..tanking is for losers..

Im usually the biggest downer but in American sports, just getting in the tournament gives you a realistic shot. You can’t waste that shot because you’re afraid the owner is a moron and might make some rash decisions because of it.

Agreed. Medicore record would put them in the #14-16 draft spot.

Just making the playoffs regardless of record automatically puts you at drafting at least #21

This is true. What aggravates me about the Cowboys is that they don't always take full advantage of their first round pick, or second for that matter. Take last draft for example. Top end WRs and DBs were there mid to late 2nd round yet Dallas picks a position already soaked. Even the 21st pick can be pretty good. You just can't pick the position everyone else is drafting heavily.

Well if Dak were really Clutch then getting into the playoffs might not be such a bad thing. But I don't believe that, given that we lost against every good team this season. I do think he is a good Quarterback, but I think the season is done for, they cowboys may make the playoffs but getting there will hurt us in the draft if we are going to be one and done anyways.

I hate being cynical. I just don't have faith in Garrett or Marinelli to step up and help the players.

Nah. Jason is done. No doubt Jerruh and sons are scheming, unlike Jason and Kellen.

Afraid a little success might go to Jerry's head, and no real changes are made...

You can't root for a loss that's ridiculous. However, knowing a loss gets JG closer to the exit makes dealing with the loss less painful.

Agreed. That's why I like #14 to 16 range instead of #21 and higher. The less soaked positions you can get arguably the best player mid 1st round and mid 2nd still has some players that are top 5 for there position.

With the amount of bad luck we have as fans when it comes to this organization I think we all fear them getting hot because of pressure and making it to the NFC Championship game. You guys watch, it would not at all be surprising for us to rise from the ashes to see Rudy live to fight another day... I'm telling you, Wade Phillips is sitting somewhere with a Voodoo doll of Jerry controlling the bleeding.

Unbelievable. Just absolutely unbelievable.

It’s funny I never said I wanted the Cowboys to tank and I said I didn’t want them to lose.I was just pointing out that getting into the playoffs would put the Cowboys behind in the coaching search they appear to be headed for and get a lower pick. Yet some of y’all I guess just read what you wanted then jumped on your holier than thou you are not a good fan soap boxes and started vomiting your garbage. I hope the Cowboys win out all the way to that Saturday in February but I can also take a realistic view of things and voice my opinion on them. In my opinion questioning someone’s fandom or love of the team and acting like you are a better fan or you love the team more is low class.

You're right. The 2010 Seahawks won the NFC West at 7-9. And then they upset the Saints in the wild card round with that amazing Marshawn Lynch run.

Anything can happen once you are in. I'd rather not waste that chance in favor of picking four or five spots higher in the draft. I know high picks help you build for the future, but at what point does the future get here?

The Cowboys may be only 6-6, but the bottom line is they still have a chance to do all the things they wanted to when they were 3-0.

I want Wentz! Oh wait....

The biggest part that hurts is the inevitable loss.

We crawl into the playoffs, giving us a morsel of hope, only to be whooped soundly by the first team we encounter.

Not worried about the draft and all that. It's the pain of being blown out that hurts. And we're not good enough to play with most of these teams.
