I'd like to keep dak but I think 25 mil is more than enough. It's up to Dallas whatever they do is what they do. If they keep him I'm ok with it if they dont im ok with it. Teams blew it by paying ok qbs top money these last few years.

He did.

I merely stated a few facts.

And again, that was my point.
Rather than discuss the facts I presented, both of you have derided me as a dope fiend.

On the same page that you are decrying the "preferential treatment" that "trolls" get while "good guys" like yourselves are constantly hamstrung and suspended for merely defending Dak

Royce, honestly, you seem like a pretty level headed poster even though you and I don't seem to agree on much.

Surely you can see the point I'm driving at here (outside the Dak/tebow thing)

The people complaining the most about rulebreakers are very often the ones breaking them.

Two specific cases in point on this very page
I didn’t see the post but it seems your intent was to compare Tebow and Dak. I’m just not seeing that comparison.

Waiting Mahomes and now Russell Wilson just really opened my eyes. These guys are on another world compared to Dak. Kind of depressing
You can't compare him to those two. They have baseball backgrounds and can basically throw bullets.

Why can't Dak be his own man lol.

Fan since 74, I used to cry when the cowboys a list as child.
Now day lovers cry when we tell them we're not on board with him
I’ve been a fan since 76. Was suspended from school many times in The Cali Bay Area for fighting when the Cowboys lost. Especially to the 49ers. So your supposed fan hood has no more credence than mine. Only thing is that I support who we have on our team. No matter what they look like. No matter who they replaced. Until it’s clear that any such player is hopeless I support them as a Cowboy. That’s what fans do. People who have personal preferences and agendas are different.

and that’s fine

not asking you to. But surely you can state why you feel it’s a crazy comparison without calling me a dope fiend, clown, troll, etc

Not saying you do that kind of stuff regularly but many do

and then they complain when they get a timeout

that’s my point.
Anyhow I’m on Eastern time and I have an early appointment

have a good night all. It’s been fun. See you tomorrow

No agenda bro, as much as I dislike him I still want the team to win. My brother is 5 years younger than me and followed my footsteps in loving the same team. I would go at it with him all the time about Dak. I still love him lol

Dak is not and never will be Mahomes. He may very well never be as good as Wilson.

You don’t need a top 3 QB to win. They’re almost impossible to find anyway. Is he worth $40M? No - but that doesn’t mean he’s bad. It’s strange to me how many fans don’t understand how much gray there is between Mahomes and bad.

I don’t see how you can go to the negotiating table and ask him to take less than Goof and Wince though when he’s outperformed then both for almost half a decade now.

I really don't honestly, my biggest problem is the money though as it will set this team back so far. Btw my brother has also changed his mind and came over to the dark side
Ok. That’s fair. It’s your opinion. But fortunately for me and unfortunately for you. He will be our quarterback heading into next season. Hopefully the change in coaching will net improved results

Just comes down to what I see on the field.
Same stuff that's been discussed over and over.
Foot work
Awareness
Vision

Stiff hips, not running hard, doesn't lead his receivers, footwork, vision....most of these things have been mentioned in the last couple of days. Made me wonder what the weaknesses in his game were when he was drafted.

The report says:

Weaknesses
Beat up this year thanks to poor protection. When he wasn't being sacked, he was being hit hard. Not as competitive a rusher in 2015. Sacks and usage in run game might be taking a toll. Increase in short pass attempts from 86 to 208 this year reason for higher completion numbers. Accuracy on intermediate and deep throws dropped sharply. Pocket poise has been compromised. Hyper aware of pressure around him and lacks awareness to slide and find temporary shelter to make throw. Concern over pressure too often trumps ability to get through progressions. Must speed up the pace of his reads. Footwork is a mess. Slight stride onto stiff upper leg with little weight shift. Restricted follow through and too often tries to muscle throws with upper body. Throws to target rather than leading or throwing them open on short/intermediate throws. Too respectful of underneath coverage and must be more willing to challenge the defense. Needs to improve anticipation.

Draft Analysis:
Dallas had long been rumored to have preferred Prescott as a backup option to Tony Romo. There are physical, athletic, and leadership traits comparable to Tim Tebow, but Prescott is vastly more pro-ready as a passer. He's an ideal backup as he continues to work on overall consistency, but he'll bring a dynamic element if his name's ever called. --Mark Dulgerian
