MM in his last 2.5 years is 13-21-1.
He was not the coaching change I was looking for. I was never a fan of the hire but my last name is not Jones and I don't have a real say in hirings and firings.

I sat and watched/listened to so many of you whine and bi... and JG. Called him the "Clapper." Complained about everything he did. He got let go, we brought in a "Super Bowl," winning coach with a "Proven track record." I said it then that change for the sake of change means nothing. So is MM doing things differently than JG? What exactly is it that MM is doing DIFFERENTKY than JG? What is he doing that is different than JG? Truth is, hardly none in here can say. We arent at practice, we arent in meetings.

Our Oline has been decimated by injuries. Dak(who I have always been skeptical of, mostly over the contract issue) played great, for the most part(turnovers) but he could definitely move the ball and put points on the board even with that Oline. He went down, and Dalton, who was pretty much universally applauded when the Cowbosy brought him in, by both the media and those on this board. He has looked like garbage.... but how was anyone to know that was going to happen?

Our defense is just bad. We have no pass rush, and our line just gets gashed up the middle. Because we have no rush, our DBs look even worse. My point is simple. You got what you want. JG is gone, MM showed up and what happened?

You literally outline some of the primary extenuating circumstances (roster decimated by injuries, Dak gone, etc.) as to why thIs team is struggling and then expect MM (or any other coach) to find success?

This freakin’ fanbase

a JG fanboy is having fun with this lol.
MM was a bad hire, and so far he is worse than JG, but JG was still pretty bad.
Not our fault jerry hired mike after hearing some bells lol.
I did not want mike, or nolan, or kellen, but I have no say in any of that.

I can’t believe there is some having Garrett regret out there.

I’m so happy he is no longer here.

I also think McCarthy was a bad hire but I said that before we did it.

Are you ever wrong about anything? Lol

Hmmm...seems you don't realize your rant documents that the new coach and his staff is starting behind the eightball - no standard off-season, no standard preseason to really evaluate the FAs brought in, implement the new defense - and see how the players perform in the exhibition games. Then having the team's strength - the OLine - get decimated early on at the regular season start
Oh - I forgot - starting QB is now out until next spring.
About Jason Garrett:

Owner\GM Jones eased his franchise-family friend into the team hierarchy
--then set him up to ursurp the HC role.
A decade in charge - pedestrian playoff results. The 2019 stumble and fall from 6-4 1st place to 8-8 and out of the postseason sealed his fate.
(BTW - how's the Giants OC doing in the Meaddowlands?)
I am not one of 'the whiners'. Waiting to see if the staff and players can come together and maybe - just maybe - get going in the season's 2nd half.
I know - tall order. But the division rivals are in the same boat.
(PHL is a leg up, though -- QB position).
As for the OC in NY, Ive made it VERY clear where I stand on coaches. 90% of these head coaches and coordinators are damn good. They know what they are doing, but the great coaches are simply the ones that have the great QB. In the history of the entire NFL... the ENTIRE HISTORY of the league, can you name me 5 head coaches that are considered great or are in the HOF that didnt have a HOF QB playing for them when they were most successful?

As far as this year, I honestly hope we just suck all year. We arent good and even though we actually could win this sorry division, whats the point?

IM not a JG fanboy as much as I am not a fan of any coach. I think most coaching at thhe 3 pro sports are highly overrated. Hows Billy looking up in Pats land? Forget the QB position, how is that entire roster looking right now? Amazing how great Bruce Arians is looking right about now, isnt it? How bout the kid in AZ, he must have studied up extra hard this off season... damn he is calling an excellent game right now, isnt he.......lol

How did Dan Quin take the Falcons to the SB just a few short years ago and he sucks now? I guess once you hit that certain age in coaching, it goes down hill pretty fast.

quite the opposite actually. My point is and always has been the coach means very little. I know, I know, they get the credit for being great when they win, but that is crap. Hows Billy doing with the Pats right now? We all knew as soon as Brady left that Billy Boy was destined the same fate as every other NFL coach that has a mediocre QB playing for them.

This is not a terrible post. The gap between most staffs is not that great. It really comes down to talent, an organizational goal and identity, and team continuity. The Phil Jackson’s of the world are very very good but they also have the MJ’s, Kobe’s and Shaq’s of the world to coach too. Funny how that works...

I have always said JG isn't a bad coach. His game day management is terrible at times but overall he wasn't a bad coach. He needed to go though. He had a decade to break through the ceiling and he couldn't get it done plain and simple. That change was needed. That doesn't mean MM was the right hire, unfortunately.

Yes we have had extraordinary circumstances this season. That doesn't mean another coach, including Garrett could have been better, and when these changes were made no one new there was a global pandemic looming and our way of life was about to change all together, much less life in the NFL.

Phil Jackson was a smart SOB...... because when he left Chicago he sat back and waited. He was only going to return if he had the right players. Id say returning to a team that had Shaq right smack in the middle of his prime and a young Kobe that was just entering his made his job pretty damn easy. I always said lets see Phil go coach the Sixers and than lets see how he does.

Its amazing hoe the top 10 Qbs in the history of the NFL had such amazing coaches......lol.... yea, right.

And yes, you stated my entire point..... all staffs in the NFL are not all that different. Notice how the guy in KC, Bellamy is now some genius head coach in waiting?
Put Bellamy arse in Jets land and see how effective his play calling is.

Another Rowdy lecturing the masses.

It's possible to think it's good that JG is gone and MM is a bad hire. They are not mutually exclusive concepts.
