I would trade 2 #1's right now and I love Romo and I also know that we need Def as a priority, but Johnny Football would be soooo cool in a Cowboys uniform.
A real fan would have made kickoff.

Hopefully Manziel playing in Dallas remains nothing more than a fairy tale. I'm not even talking about his game, I just don't like the guy.

Really?

His game is doing anything to win.

And he's done it with a great deal of success with an Aggie Team that is not the best..

I think that translates well at any level.

He reminds me of a Doug Flutie guy.

It will be interesting.

What is this? Sorry Red, the Tex Aggies recruit very well since joining the sec... they have won Texas last 3 seasons. Look at the left tackles both off the draft board at pick 2 last season and maybe top five pick this draft. The reason johnny F runs ariound is he doesn't get rid of the ball quickly. That may or may not be a reflection of his ability to read coverage. Overall an outstanding prospect but he does have boom or B U S T written all over him.

Manziell may be a better safety than QB. Would it make sense to move up for a FS?

So does he want to be a Cowboy or a Texan? I guess he wants to set himself up either way.
http://tracking.si.com/2014/02/14/johnny-manziel-texans-draft/?xid=nl_siextra

Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel told reporters he wants the Houston Texans to draft him with the first overall pick and warned the franchise that doing otherwise would be the worst mistake it ever made.

Of course he'd rather go first overall than 16th overall. Just like any player would.

Manziel has a high risk/reward element associated with his status and potential.
If for some reason he slides to 16th or 17th pick, Jerry should take him.

One of these high profile QBs will probably slip to us.

I think in spite of the Romo contract and the DL mandate..

you step up and take your next QB.

While the rest of the NFC re-arms with new QBs (the Iggles and Commanders)

and the Jints already have 2 SBs with Eli Manning..

we are still struggling with Romo and his baggage.

Why build the team over the next 2-3 years ubder Romo ONLY..

..to have to rebuild again once we ABSOLUTELY must have a new QB..?

Now we are talking 2-3 years of being behind the rest of the NFC and the Eastern Division especially before we go find a QB?

Thats insanity.

Take the QB now..

..we are not turning into contenders with a DL as our first choice.

Jerrah..think it thru for once.

Draw a timeline on a piece of paper and see what is happening.

You'll understand your only way to win a SB in the next 3-4 years is to find your next QB.

That's Texas football.

You need to live in other areas of the country and see how the modern college game is played.

Heck..the Texas HC just had to step down because he couldn't win more than 8 games.

So you are entitled to your loyalties..but the Aggies are not a juggernaut.

Sorry.

If Doug Flutie were a huge dousche bag.

Hahahaha..

Doug Flutie did some pretty amazing things without all the measurables.

I probably saw a lot more of Flutie in the pros and college than you guys did living on the East Coast at the time..

..but he was a touch competitor, a tireless winner and played beyond his ability and players on offense followed him.

Not to mention..beyond football..a great humanitarian.

You know about his work off the field..right Mr. Dousche Bag?

Doesn't have close to an elite NFL arm and his athleticism was better than 80% of college players but is not better than the guys he'll be facing in the NFL.

I'm sure the same was said about Wilson too. Manziel is going to have some success.

Flutie had his moments.
I don't think even now many woulod condier him worth a high 1st round pick though.
The guy did have a magic about him at times. Great USFL QB.

You missed his point Red
He was saying Flutie was not a dousche and that Maziel is.

pretty sure I saw them standing beside each other at the Heisman ceremony and Manzeil looked at least 3 inches taller than Flutie which surprised me.

again off topic….
but why do everyone think Russell Wilson was knocked for his arm strength?
all the scouting reports I read said he had a pretty strong arm, and he showed it at NCST, & Wisconsin.
