Manziel: "I grew up a Cowboys fan, I was born at halftime of a game, would be folktale to wear Star"

Yet he wins games on the biggest stage in the best conference.

And he's already used to playing with a crappy defense so he's ready for this job.

So did Tebow. Actually Tebow won more and more consistently.

I want no part of Johnny. None. If he goes early great...someone was pushed down to us.

If he's available when we pick...great...let's trade down with some team desperate for his circus.

I can't believe anyone wants this guy on the Cowboys. And the folks that do always beat up on Jerry for making the "splash" move. Hypocrites.

Call me a bad fan all you want but I wish we lost 2 or 3 more games last year and never gave Romo that albatross of a contract. If we let Romo play out his contract, we'd be in a better position to turn the page on this aged loser core. It just makes too much sense to have Manziel wearing the star. The guy was born to lead this specific team back to the Super Bowl.

Don't know why people here feel the need to dump on Romo, to elevate someone who hasn't played a single down in the NFL. Would it be nice to get Manziel? Sure. Will it matter RIGHT NOW? Nope. Romo is our guy. Get over it.

It amazes me how many on this site have no issue whatsoever sticking with the status quo. "Keep Ware, Keep Romo, Keep Witten, Keep Free on a paycut, Give Carter another year, Let Spencer come back for cheap...etc...etc..etc.." It's sickening how so many fans on this site are scared to death of turning the page on this core. I am ready. Trust me, IF Jerry did NOT give Romo that extension, if he made Romo play out his final year of the contract, Manziel would be the draft pick, period. I just wish Jerry would wake up from his brain dead state and realize this core is finished no matter how many ways you try to tinker it. They're damaged goods, they're finished. Bring in JFF and you automatically have the leader we've desperately being wanting since Aikman retired. No more slouching shoulders, whining to teammates, no more "if this is the worst thing that happens to me in my life....". We'd finally have that dawg who would be foaming at the mouth to win games. Someone that Dez can feed off of. Let me stop before I start getting emotional....I'm just sick of this core.

You got one right. Ware needs to be cut loose...from the payroll

A real fan would have made kickoff.

Hopefully Manziel playing in Dallas remains nothing more than a fairy tale. I'm not even talking about his game, I just don't like the guy.

If he is still there...lets draft "johnny Football" in the 7th and let him take kickoff & punt returns.

If Manzell & Clowney are both there at 17 I'm taking Clowney. My draw on that pick will be faster than Bat Masterson

Never happen. Too many bad teams drafting in front of Dallas that have to sell hope, tickets, and gear.

Could happen.

Jerrah is a showman first and a GM /owner second.

He makes Cirque de Sole look like a sideshow.

Come on Man.

Halftime of a Cowboy game, that would have been against the Broncos at old Mile High a come from behind victory December 6, 1992...No Elway, I believe Tommy Maddox was QB. One of Dan Reeves better coaching performance, he pulled out every gadget play he had, I was jus happy we survived.

His deep out (hardest NFL throw) is atrocious and he throws rainbows on 9 routes. That's evident in every game.
lmao. Not according to my eyes or the best scouts in the game. His arm strength is good and accuracy top notch, mobility is excellent. Best QB in college, and his game really fits the modern NFL game, gonna be a star.

Youre a hater...people either love or hate the guy, i enjoy watching the guy play, hes exciting.

Dude you're really comparing the passing ability of Tebow to Manziel? They are completely different levels. Tebow was surrounded by talent everywhere on his team to mask his weaknesses. Manziel carried his team/school on his back for 2 years into relevancy. He can make throws that Tebow never would be able to make no matter how much training he gets from espn. Manziel is a leader without the fakeness of a Tebow and the sappiness of Romo. He's proven on more than one occasion that he's not scared to get into his teammates' grill if they are underperforming. I wish he was a Cowboy b/c he'd bring new energy and hope to this dead franchise.

His arm is better than some of you are giving him credit for.

Still, yes, it would take a coach smart enough to tailor the offense to his strengths. He'll need a coach who will get him out of the pocket (like Russell Wilson), not just call plays like he's Troy Aikman.

Which unfortunately is exactly what Garrett would do.

If his arm is so great then why is he skipping the throwing part of the combine?????? Huge red flag.....And don't say he is saving himself for his pro day. That scripted workout is all fools gold.

Dude when you're going to a top 3 pick in the draft, the only thing that you can do by throwing is lower you draft stock. It's kinda like playing blackjack and getting 20, well you could take a hit and possibly get an ace but that 20 will win a high percentage of the time. JFoots is sitting on 2 kings and I don't blame him for not taking a hit (not throwing at the combine).

Doesn't really matter. He'll visit a number of teams and they'll have him throw every pass conceivable.

You look sloppy at the combine and you get to hear about it for 3 months.

Just playing it safe.

Did you not watch this guy play at all? I mean geesh, you have to watch him play. I'd give his throwing power an 8 out of 10 - his accuracy a 7 out of 10 - his poise and pressure game situation - 9/10 - his scrambling - 10-10 - his work ethic and leadership a 10/10 and his attitude a 4/10.

Romo arm strenght 6/10 - accuracy 7-10 - scrambling 7-10 - poise and pressure game situation 3/10 work ethic - 6/10 - leadership 7/10 - attitude 10/10.

I nor anyone on the planet knows what he's going to do, or for that matter, what any QB is going to do. Who knew that Wilson would have the poise to lead a team to a Super Bowl victory. It's pretty safe to say we know what Romo is going to do.

Tebow won a lot of games in the NFL too, so not sure what the problem is.

It's definitely not a great arm... But I think it's good enough. I've heard a few ex-coaches and GMs who say the same thing. Bill Polian for one. His son apparently was an assistant coach at A&M a couple years ago and he saw him practice in person.

What exactly has he won? Multiple championship? Seems to me he has come up short in some big games. Pass on him

This thread is funny. He didn't do this. He can't throw all that well.

That guy was a great college football QB. Tons of fun to watch. I saw him scramble out of a ton of certain sacks.

I do not like the "show me the money" stuff. That's just bad sportsmanship to me but whatever "it" is that makes a kid great in college ball Manziel has.
