I like good football players. Mario Williams would be a sure upgrade, and could help bring this defense to a new level.Williams had 11,12,and 15 sacks before the bills changed schemes so all this "pulling out of games" didn't stop him from dominating. Who else do you want to plug into that hole Jack Crawford ?

And about Jared Allen I saw him starting in every game for the panthers in the playoffs . He looked like he was out there playing to me. One things for sure there's a history of success in this league with veteran DE's changing teams and making a difference. If you fail seeing that then that's on you.

There is just as much history of players quitting on a team because they think they're bigger than the whole and carrying that attitude with them everywhere.

Add to the fact he is a quitter, the fact that this guy is going to be considered the premier pass rusher on the market most likely, due to the market being so weak. A contender is going to back a truck up to his door. I pray the Jones' have learned their lesson about that.

He is the type to go CIN or SEA and thrive. He comes here and it never works out.

He is an ALL- PRO DE when playing the right scheme.

He quit on his team and pouted about it. You can have your primadonna. I'll take football players, thanks. I would take Hardy back over Williams. At least I know he's going to play his *** off and not pout like a ***** when things aren't going his way.

If we could get the guy on a one year deal, I wouldn't even care. He is going to get big time money though. I couldn't stomach that knowing the guy just absolutely quit on his team. If we were one pass rusher away from the Super Bowl, maybe, but we're not.

He would be amazing in Cincinnati. I think the Giants could make a strong play for Williams and let clubfist blow-up somewhere else.

did he quit on the Bills? Yes he was frustrated, but is the consensus that he was loafing?

That's what players have come out and said and it was pretty clear watching the games he wanted nothing to do with taking on double teams. He had 5 sacks and 19 tackles on the season. Even out of position, 19 tackles?!?!

I've seen plenty of great players get in disputes with teams. Rolando McClain "quit " twice and we signed him. These are grown men not kids. Rex Ryan tries to run a BS culture wherever he goes and it doesn't work. Veterans can smell BS from miles away. The guy is an elite football player you cannot deny that. I saw Hardy yelling at coaches, getting suspended , hitting women , and taking off plenty of plays off.

I don't take average football players i take great football players . When I see a hole on the team I try to fill it with elite talent. We will get a big signing at DE. Jerry talks about allocation money for elite positions and with Lawrence and Gregory under their bargain rookie contracts you can bet we'll be bringing in Williams , Vernon , and some others for a visit.

They are jealous of the money he makes. Rex Ryan should be fire for putting him @3-4 DE.

On 485 pass rush snaps, Williams finished with just 34 combined quarterback sacks, hits and hurries.

I also don't really like the fact his teammates called him out for basically giving up.

He's a top tier DE, and if he was willing to bounce back it'd be a no brainer, depending on cost. But his unhappiness in the scheme happened to come at a time after he's made a fortune in this league. Does he feel like it's Mario's world now that he's been paid? If he's lost his hunger it could be a very bad investment.

It's a risk. I do like the idea of Rod bringing him back though. He kept Julius Peppers playing at an extremely high level when Peppers was around the same age, if not older, when Peppers made two All-Pro teams.

He's intriguing for sure. I'm sure we're interested.

Rather sign Vernon Olivier all things being equal. Olivier has no motor concerns, is 25, and his arrow is pointing up. Malik Jackson is another option.

First of all, you probably wont find a more vocally opposed to McClain person than me. I didn't want him originally and definitely don't now. He hasn't once shown he's more than a stopgap.

It's funny you mention what players think of Ryan because, for all intents and purposes, his players have loved him just about everywhere he's been.

You saw Hardy hitting women? You may want to contact the police about that...

Now Vernon, I am 100% on board with you about that guy. I would love to get him in Big D. Young, hard working exceptional talent.

Absolutely Vernon will cost much more though. If we have the money do it . I want williams or Vernon . Jackson would be a 3 tech in our scheme .

Ok first you say you saw Hardy hit women, and now you're saying the Bills made up stories because they were jealous of how much Mario Williams got paid? Wow....

As long as you're talking about paying elite players though, why not go after the guy who is younger and has no question marks? Yeah, Vernon is going to cost more, but at least you're paying for future production instead of past production.

That would be nice . I hope so . I meant in the manner of a veteran changing teams and helping take a defense to a championship level . Reggie White , Haley , Ware etc.

But our secondary is no where near a championship level.

Vernon is a complete monster. The only reason I haven't mentioned him is because I think, unfortunately, there's 0% chance he leaves Miami. He'll get tagged if they don't work out a contract. Better to just not even think about him

Ok if you haven't seen the pics by now or listened to the police calls (with Hardy ) it's late. It doesn't matter he won't be here next season.

So now you're going to dispute that Mcclain hasn't shown glimpses of greatness ? I think he was a huge part of why we were 12-4 and he was more than solid in the last half of last year. It seems you have a problem with guys personalities ? This team the Cowboys has a history of taking chances on guys and signing controversial athletes . Thomas Henderson , Irvin , Owens , leaf , spillman , underwood , sanders , Haley , Mcclain , Gregory that's just a few .

I don't care to like a player for their personality I just care what they produce on the field. The Cowboys always have 2-3 crazies on the roster ;)

Maybe they'll screw up and only tender him at the second round pick rate ;)

You never know though. It's a new coach and they have A LOT of holes. He may want to spend that money other places.
