After hearing some of the stuff he said about the Bears and assessing his attitude in general, I can see why Jason Garrett and the Cowboys tired of him.

They probably saw that if he had the work ethic and demeanor of Witten, the sky was the limit for him. But he doesn't - and still doesn't. Which is why they let him go.

Just face it - he wasn't going to change while with the Cowboys so there's no point in rueing what would have been.

Sound wisdom/ good angle,,,I've thought that myself, you know Romo had to be in a kinda dark place(upstairs) going thru that, watching it.

And then he began to reflect, "I got to quarterback America's Team for a decade, I've got a hot wife, healthy and lovely kids, I have more money than I can spend this lifetime, I'm about to walk into one of the most coveted jobs for ex-athletes and will make a boatload of additional dollars while my colleagues likely won't make nearly as much as I'm going to make when they leave the game. Oh, and I can always come back if needed. LIFE IS GOOD! Let me help Dak out."

It's funny. I mean, if you know me as a poster, at all, you know that I am a Texas Longhorn Fan and am not a fan of the Aggies at all. Having said this, Dan Campbell, a former Aggie, is one of the players I have mad respect for. On the flip side, Bennett who is another former Aggie, I have zero respect for. Both TEs, both from the same program and it's just like night and day. Life is funny.....

I don't agree with this. I mean, Tony could have done a lot, in the way of sabotaging that situation by just stirring the pot. I never saw that last year. By simply not doing those things, Tony helped Dak out more then we can imagine IMO.

Well we both agree that Tony probably didn't help Dak learn the position of QB.

True, Tony didn't stir the pot and create more drama than the media made up (except for calling his own press conference). But I think Dak could have drowned out the noise, even had Tony made things worse.

Can we keep this thread about MB and his randomness than hijacking another thread into dak vs romo debate.

Jeeez, let it go!

Only issue I had with MartyB was his drops.

The coaches did not mesh with his personality and vice versa. I put that on the FO and scouting department for picking a bad fit.

I have no problem with free spirits like MB if they work hard which he undoubtedly did. OTOH, I can understand why a rigorous, serious minded coach like Garrett or his brothers would.

That was back in the day when the scouts and coaches were not on the same page. I'm just glad those days are over.

He was with the Patriots last season. Won the SB with them

That's how much I care

Who'd he sign with this off season? And hopefully it was long enough he never sniffs the Cowboys home locker room again

Jerry Jones helped me out a lot too. I will always have love for Jerry. I remember having tea with him one day. I was like ***.
I never forgot those conversations. Or that time he came on the team bus and was like where the **** is martellus. Hahaha.
I didn't really understand a lot of stuff that was happening in the moments that they did. But as I look back I appreciate it all more
Jerry has a sick collection of silverware. Some real rich people ****.

Leonard Davis and Andre Gurode were beast. I learned a lot about blocking from them.
Marc Colombo was great too. As a rookie I didn't know much early on but he would just point and say block him knowing I would get it done.

About 3 years ago I finally got some **** that @tonyromo would tell me. "Be urgent but don't rush" I told a young guy that one day.
And I was like ohhhhh that's what Romo meant. Hahahaha lol. To me urgent and rushing meant the same thing. Had no idea what he meant till That day.

Day. I use to be like yo @DezBryant I'm not a QB bruh I can't throw this **** over the field back and forth. Left hand only. Behind the back Between the legs. Just wanted to catch the ball every way possible.
