I dont get his humor, never will-but Im not ready to get rid of him just yet. Hes got all the talent, just needs to focus and I hope he turns out well for us this year. I believe he will.

People keep saying he's got all the talent. Does he though? At what point does it turn out he doesn't have NFL level talent and we were wrong about him?

Oh, he has the talent, I just don;t think playing football is all that important to him. He is a block head of epic proportions and his mouth runs far faster than his brain can engage it.

The way he is applying that talent, we can get the same production out of John Phillips.

I do think he has the talent and it seems he cares more about twitter and trying to be a comedian instead of football. If a team offers a good pick for him i'm all for him being shipped out.

This is the generation of kids on the internet.

it's normal, it's part of their lives and normal to be online all the time now with phones. I think the conflict is generational.

I have had a lot of friends that said some stupid crap, but they said it in the bar or at the house. Twitter or facebook is the same thing as at the bar to these kids. And it's been a part of who they are for so long it's to be expected this kind of thing happens.

In his head I don't think he is talking to you guys, he is talking to his friends. And then when "reporters" or "bloggers" follow so closely looking for controversy it's bound to happen.

Much ado about nothing, and certainly not something any of us haven't heard before in mixed company and likely even laughed at before our lives gave us circumstances that changed our sensitivities.

Enabler. Just like I said earlier.

People like you make him feel like it's fine and dandy to act like a moron on the internet. And you won't give two craps when this young man throws away this golden opportunity with the Dallas Cowboys.

Gotta agree with Cajun. The R-word should be beyond the pale. Unfortunately, it's us is far too common among whippersnappers these days. Probably, in part, because it gets a rise out of others.

And unfortunately, I think Marty B gets far too much encouragement from the 'Beavis and Butthead' set. He's so set on going his own way, that he does it even when it's dumber than sack of rocks.

As infuriating as his insensitive language is, his flippant attitude towards $1000 is just as obtuse. How about donating that $1000 to the local food bank Martellus? You can tweet about that all you want and you might even gets some real props. Jerk

While Chicago and Detroit were making early splashes on the first day of free agency, all was quiet at One Paul Brown Stadium without any announcements from the Bengals.

But they might be putting themselves in position to make some moves next week.
The team's main need continues to be at receiver, but it appears the Bengals are also looking for a tight end and help at offensive guard.
Tight end Chris Baker, who was released by New England on Thursday, will visit Cincinnati early next week. Baker, who will be entering his ninth season, was used mainly as a blocking tight end with the Patriots but had 14 receptions for 142 yards and two touchdowns. He spent his first seven seasons with the Jets.
With Reggie Kelly, J.P. Foschi and Dan Coats being free agents, the only two tight ends currently on the roster are Chase Coffman and Darius Hill.

According to the National Football Post, the Bengals also have an interest in offensive guard Chester Pitts. The nine-year veteran has spent his entire career with Houston but suffered a knee injury last year. He's mainly lined up on the left side but would team up nicely if the Bengals were able to re-sign Bobbie Williams. He would also provide depth.

But back to receiver. With Baltimore acquiring Anquan Boldin in a trade from Arizona, Nate Burleson off to Detroit and Kevin Walter re-signing with Houston, the pool of unrestricted free agents has begun to shrink, meaning that Terrell Owens continues to look better and better.

Chris Chambers, Derrick Mason and Josh Reed are other options, but none have the deep-play capability of Owens.

In terms of the Bengals free agents, no progress was made toward re-signing them on Friday.

Late in the day the prospects of holding on to defensive tackle Tank Johnson started to diminish when agent Drew Rosenhaus tweeted that his client will make visits to other teams next week.

After being released on Thursday, Laveranues Coles said that he was not the right fit for the Bengals.

Coles told the Newark Star Ledger: "I didn't fit into the offense at all. Carson (Palmer) wasn't comfortable with me. He likes tall receivers. He told the coaches he wasn't comfortable throwing to me.

"I didn't have a great year if you just look at my stats, but I think in the situation I was in, I did a pretty good job."

I say dump him. Phillips is doing most everything Bennett is. Sure he isn't as physically gifted or doesn't appear to have the potential upside. But at this point all it is with Bennett is potential and at the rate we're going it'll never be more than Captain Crunch tweets for us.

If we get rid of Bennett, then we need to draft his replacement. How do you know the guy you draft will be as good as Bennett or won't be a bigger block head? Bennett stays.

I think Phillips will keep developing, he was turning into an option towards the end of the year, not as athletic, but sure hands and a good blocker and.........no you tube 5 year old garbage.

John Phillips - although he's smart and driven, he's just not as athletic or have the potential of Bennett. He is a block head, but Bennett should always be a better TE than Phillips.

you guys fail to realize that phillips gains come from being the 3rd tight end on the field...

He gets none of the attention from the defense that bennett gets...

give martellus time to develop, and this offense will flourish.
