There's not much to defend at this point. My only point was the amount of people getting up in arms about a backup...I would understand if it were Witten, but it's just Martellus Bennett. He'll probably be in a Bengals uniform or Raiders uniform or Dolphins uniform before camp starts.

As far as I'm concerned, John Phillips has usurped him as the #2 Tight End behind Witten. Trading Martellus Bennett would make drafting Dorin Dickerson make SO much sense it wouldn't even be funny.

So yeah...in my opinion and my prediction is Bennett is traded either during the draft or before it, and we pick up Dorin Dickerson in round 3. With the other 3rd round pick, we'll select Robert Johnson, S, Utah.

I think I'm going to do a mock now. Starting to finally see what I think we'll come away with in the draft.

As a step parent of a mentally challenged young man, this really ticks me off. I know it's easy to be offended every day and I am not thin skinned, but the utter stupidity of someone like this annoys the heck out of me. To me, this is akin to using racial slurs, and maybe worse because generally these people can't really stand up for themselves and speak their mind.

Marty B has gone from being one of my favorite rising stars to being the guy I would like to see cut or traded most.

I think this gets to Jerry and he ships his *** out of here.

My 8 year old has autism. I couldn't agree with you more.

While I don't agree with bennett actions in this case. I'm not going to get up in arms with what a 22 yr old says considering many of our middle aged "leaders" do and say stupid things all the time.

John Philips can block, catch and make plays. Philips was probably getting focused and learning the playbook while Bennett was tweeting on his phone. that's probably why you saw Philips catching passes from Romo late in the season and not Bennett.

I wonder since the Chargers just lost there blocking TE to Chicago(Brandon manumalblahblahblah) if we could ship Bennett to San Diego for a 4th.

That is true too. All of em are pieces of trash. Bennett, the leaders, the whole nine.

I never liked him.

The dude just isn't passionate about football. He seems like a goofball that happens to be talented at football and knows it.

I say ship him out the first chance you get.

Take a 3rd.

Hey I bet y'all thought tiger was a saint too. AaaaaahhhhhhAaaaaaaa. Really????? I think everybody needs to get overthemselves. Is It wrong to say on Twitter for a prof athlete. Yeah prolly. But at the end of the day that's all he is . A football player. A very young one at that. Take 1 trip through a locker room. Or better yet walk a mile in another mans before you judge. It's really no difference in calling him dumb or stupid and him saying ratard. People who live in glass houses.......yeah nevermind. Falling on deaf ears..... Oh no I said deaf....... Hehheeeeeee

The problem isn't his sense of humor.. well, I guess he doesn't always say the BEST things a professional athlete should say..

The problem is his entitlement. You know, I'm an all star football player and screw working I can just be popular over the internet and make lots of money doing nothing.

It's always been my thought that we're not ones to tell someone what to do outside of football and in their free time. That, because they have a job to do, a job we watch on TV, doesn't give us the right to judge and try and direct a persons life.

But I will say the problem with Martellus is he's kind of disrespectful to some of his fans. The fans make the NFL Y'Know..

And some of it is done in bad taste, the guy REALLY doesn't take his job seriously, which is sad for the money he makes.

Me and my GF saw a guy sitting on the corner by the local food lion this past week. We bought him some food and gave him 5 dollars. The guy couldn't have been more grateful. He was a laid off brickworker for the local army housing area being built here.

And a guy like Martellus Bennett doesn't realize what the **** he has.

Dumb as a rock comes to mind when I see that you posted something.

The video is proof that he wasn't quoting the movie.

Now I bet you feel stupid.

Which would be appropriate.

Naw, it's pretty common among young people (high school-early 20's) to quote the hangover... People say "ruh-tard" or "ratard" all the time now. No offense to you parents that have children that are mentally challenged.

I was a strong Bennett defender because I wanted him pre-draft, and was ecstatic when we got him on draft day. But I can't defend this guy anymore.

And he's not funny. The harder someone tries to be funny, the more unfunny it is. That's him in a nutshell.

Crayton may have said some things regarding "football" . This is just stupid and uncalled for by this moron. Don't put Crayton and Bennett in the same book.

Bennett is just an idiot and a waste of a roster spot.

They were implying that he took the entire quote he used on Twitter from the movie.

All he did was use the word(spelling) from the movie.

They were looking for an excuse for his stupidity.

And they failed miserably.

I just would like this kid to stop acting like an idiot in a public forum in which all of his fans are reading/watching what he does because he wears the star.

I don't hate the kid. He's just not for me. And with each little episode of his I am hoping more and more he's not for Jerry Jones either. After hearing that Jerry Jones had to dress him down last season in front of his peers (reportedly) and also hearing Jerry's recent comments concerning him you would think Marty B would want to shy away from anything that could bring down some heat from Jerry. That he would be walking on egg shells.

I think all that hype about him last summer really did a number on him. Maybe he thinks he's 'cut' proof. I know there was another guy who thought the same thing with Jerry. And that guy had a history of putting up big offensive numbers for this team.

I get the sense that this kid is surrounding by a bunch of phonies who just keep telling him how funny he is and how everything is great these days. From there why would he feel the need to change anything about himself. If he posts that on Twitter and he gets responses from his 'young' fans who tell him he's hilarious than he won't see it as anything wrong. The problem is those kids are probably between 12-20 and they could just as easily move onto the next kid who comes along and acts the fool. Meanwhile this kid is onto his second team and learned nothing about being a professional athlete in today's world.

The real problem here is that these examples of his character aren't captured by a hidden camera or told to us by 'sources' or acquired by a hidden mic.

These examples are coming directly from him. He's offering them up to you and I. He's running up in front of the crowd to be seen and heard by all with this stuff.

Great post.

The thing that concerns me is that he knows he's already on Jerrys radar with this kind of stuff and yet he STILL blantely puts it out there for Jerry to find out.

Either it doesn't give a **** or he's extemely dumb.
