Matt Johnson Heading To Season Ending IR per Broaddus

best option. we retain his rights and hopefully some day he can get healthy and fulfill his potential

We got Johnson and Wilber with those two 4th round picks that year.

These are the things that keep us from contention.

Why do we continue to waste our time on this guy? Are they giving the guy a 3 year rule? I mean seriously its going to be 2 years and this guy has played all of 15 preseason snaps in his career. That's just insane. It's not like he was a first or second Rd pick or a stud college football player or anything. Also with the rumors of him skating through practices in college I don't see the point in this team continuing to invest in this guy. I just don't get it. We have better talent at safety now. I think it just sends the wrong message.

So lets see hurt SR year in college, cant get get out of the trainers room in two years pro. Gets hurt just running down the field. Lets call it a failed experiment and move on.

Wilber is a scrub. He makes me miss Butler and that's saying ALOT.

Trying to save face for investing a 4th round pick.

I remember how they talked about sweating it out after taking Wilber with the 113th pick that Johnson would "last" until pick 135.

Amazingly he did.

Can a player on IR go to team meetings, watch practice etc. or is he limited to training/weight room?

It would go along way with the fans if they just admit they made a mistake instead of saving face. I'm not coming out and saying they made a mistake but cut the mistake and move on.

I've read too many of your posts to believe you are advocating drafting a DB in 2014, so I'll just assume you want to see some more of Matt Johnson

I believe in the impact of a top FS. He plays with his eyes in the backfield. He's in a position to make plays.

It's the people searching for firmer footing in rebuttal to my stance on cornerbacks that have lumped safeties into that mix.

They were going to have to pay an injury settlement anyway so that probably was not that different from the 240k they will have to pay as a split salary.
