He specifically was asked about both and specifically mentioned McClain. So inferring he was addressing Johnson in the second half isn't a stretch, unless he has a habit of only half answering questions.
He will ignore parts at times if he has no info, no idea if that's the case here without him clarifying it but it sounds to me like he's just talking about McClain

It's all good man. I agree that it's time to move on. His body isn't going to hold up. That's unfortunate for him but that's how it goes sometimes.

I'd feel the same way if they cut Lee too. I love Lee, and he's proven on the field he can play without a doubt, but if they cut him cause he can't stay healthy I wouldn't blame them. He hasn't been able to and likely he never will be able to. It's also unfortunate for him as well.

I understand your point. The only difference is that Lee has proven he can play at an pro bowl level.

I was pullin' hard for Matt Johnson. We are all still having withdrawals from the Darren Woodson days and I'm for any young safety to come in here and be a star to lock that position down for years to come.

Hopefully Wilcox can be that guy.

Broaddus has said numerous times he doesn't want to talk about Matt Johnson. He really liked the guys talent and is through thinking he will be healthy. He was obviously referring to McClain's injury in that tweet.

I can't feel TOO terrible for Johnson if he doesn't make it in the NFL. Hear me out... if he really truly loves the game of football, I'm sure he could catch on somewhere in the CFL, AFL, or another league. Sure it would suck for him if he couldn't get an NFL paycheck, but then again no one's telling he's not allowed to play football for the rest of his life (as in a degenerative health condition). Things could be worse.

I remember Parcells having very strict eating and weight programs. He was very big on conditioning, said it prevented injuries. Even if it was like 3 pounds or something. I don't recall if we had a ton of injuries with Parcells.

“You hate it for Matt,”(Stephen) Jones said. “He’s done everything right. We were just talking to our guys about him. He trained harder than he’s ever trained, he eats right and he does all the right things. It’s tough, and there’s no one more frustrated than him.”

Hey, all. A bit of rough housing on this topic as there always is, but let's all remember that it's all internet opinions at the end of the day. We're all friends here, more or less. Or else we fake it convincingly when we have to. Right?

I don't fake it- I just start drinking.

Why do we need to bash Risen? I don't always agree with his opinions and thoughts, as seen here, but he's not some terrible posters whose an idiot or something. I personally like him, and his take on things, even if I don't agree with it.

He's a good kid.
Not many would be able to stand a know-it-all blowhard in person like him (if he actually IS like that in person), but it works in this near-anonymous world.

I laugh semi-often at his one-liners.

Well, he's fun to bash on...

But I agree with you. His takes are informed, and interesting. He's not afraid to put it out there, either. Even when I don't agree with him. I agree with him on a lot of topics we never actually butt heads on, too.

Exactly.

It's got nothing to do with talent, rather he has it or not, he simply isn't going to be able to stay healthy.

Sean Lee has proven he can play and if they decided to cut him tomorrow I wouldn't be upset about that either because it's obvious the poor guy simply isn't ever going to be able to stay healthy.

That's the unlucky part of pro sports sometimes. It doesn't matter how talented, how hard you work, what you dreamed or wanted to do...there are simply going to be guys whose bodies just aren't going to do what they want them to do.

It happens.

Actually it does have to do with talent. Matt Johnson doesn't have it. It's just that injuries have prevented that from being painfully obvious to everyone.

This isn't a case of the Cowboys being unfortunate. This was a horrific draft pick.

So you watched the same YouTube highlights that everybody else did.

And the irony here is that you have yet to acknowledge that he's probably going to wash out of the NFL, not because of lack of talent. We'll probably never know that. He's washing out because he can't stay healthy. And you can't see that that's a different issue than lack of talent. But your claim your victory anyway.

Ridiculous.

Right. That's what the people like you can say. Those that can't think for themselves and fall for every Costa and Matt Johnson stiff the team tries to force feed you.

So I'm happy for you too. You can pretend right along with Matt himself that he was some pro talent that just couldn't stay on the field.

But I hope the team can recognize the mistake and address that scouting issue. Otherwise we may completely waste more picks on guys with no future in the NFL.

That might be. I don't know. I never saw the guy play. He never got on the field. So I have no opinion one way or another about his level of talent or lack there of.

For me it's time to move on because he simply isn't going to stay healthy. I have no thought on rather he might have played well or wouldn't have. I never saw it happen so I have nothing to base my thoughts on his level of playing talent.

I don't spend hours and hours watching youtube videos, or highlight packages, or looking around online to see if I can get supposed game tape footage for every single football player on the planet,. Hell I won't put that effort in for any player on the planet. :)

That said I stand by my comment. This thought and opinion that they should cut him now has zero to do with what talent he may or may not have and has everything to do with the fact that he has a body that simply will not allow him to stay healthy.

Umm, his body is telling him he can't play football for the rest of his life.
