I'm happy for him. He gets to pretend he had the talent but just couldn't stay healthy.

Whoever pushed for that pick should have been fired for it.

Is that like forum fans who get to pretend like they're talented scouts and coaches they just never got the fair shot to be one? I'm just curious about that.

Yes, but here's the question you won't answer. How did you evaluate his talent? You have a secret pipeline to Eastern Washington game film? Talk to coaches? Opposing college players? Because he hadn't been on the practice field to Cowboys long enough for anybody to evaluate his talent.

Dude, you played the odds here. He wasn't on Kipers radar, or any of the draft gurus radar. That's it. Add to that that most fourth rounders don't even finish out their rookie contract and you made a good percentage call.

But that ain't talent evaluation. And since in two plus years you have yet to answer any questions about how you determined his talent, you never did it, did you?

But good call anyway. You play played the odds well.

Dignity?

Matt Johnson has been getting paid more money the last few years for virtually getting treatment for his plague of injuries than most people make in 10 years working in the real world.

I think Matt Johnson has been more than dignified. I wish I could be as dignified as Matt Johnson in my career, but stuff like that just doesn't happen in the real world if you can't perform.

The Cowboys have been more than considerate to Matt Johnson and have given him every opportunity to prove he can stay healthy and perform on the football field.

The man can't stay healthy. It's not our fault that that's the case. We are just stating the facts and the obvious.

How is it dehumanizing when facts are being commented on? You are trying to make a mountain out of a molehill.

The man can't stay healthy and has had ample opportunities to make it in this league. It's really quite simple.

You mad? Maybe you should have worked harder when you were younger, been more dedicated, and been less fragile and you could have drawn an NFL paycheck for nothing instead of having to work in the real world.

Don't get mad at others for being able to get easy money because they had more football talent then you or I ever did.

I'm sorry I was right again and you have to fabricate misses that allegedly I have had.

I'm smart enough to know that stiffs like Phil Costa and Matt Johnson can't play.

Yeah. It's like magic. Like watching you pull a rabbit out of a hat with a rabbit in it. How *do* you do it, Risen?

I watched everything available on him and, yes, leaned on opinions that I trust.

Tell somebody else he wasn't on Kiper's radar. That doesn't fly here. He was ranked where he belongs. Right with the street free agent talent. The guys who might be a camp body for a year before selling insurance.

Matt Johnson wasn't under the radar. He wasn't hidden. He just wasnt any good.

You seem to be congratulating me on a no brainer. I agree. That's all you needed to see this coming.

That's one of the worst picks of the Jerry era.

Its easy.

I don't let the team think for me. Nor do I try to paint the most positive picture possible.

This isn't earth shattering stuff I'm saying here. Half the fan base is going duh. Its the other half, the "so you know more than the team?" crowd, that's sitting around in Matt Johnson jerseys in disbelief right now.

So you watched the same YouTube highlights that everybody else did.

And the irony here is that you have yet to acknowledge that he's probably going to wash out of the NFL, not because of lack of talent. We'll probably never know that. He's washing out because he can't stay healthy. And you can't see that that's a different issue than lack of talent. But your claim your victory anyway.

Ridiculous.

Lot of arguing. All for nothing.

As soon as he's cut he'll be an enemy of the state and the board as a whole can finally agree that he just couldn't stay healthy enough to be worth the continued investment and hopes of panning out.

Exactly.

It's got nothing to do with talent, rather he has it or not, he simply isn't going to be able to stay healthy.

Sean Lee has proven he can play and if they decided to cut him tomorrow I wouldn't be upset about that either because it's obvious the poor guy simply isn't ever going to be able to stay healthy.

That's the unlucky part of pro sports sometimes. It doesn't matter how talented, how hard you work, what you dreamed or wanted to do...there are simply going to be guys whose bodies just aren't going to do what they want them to do.

It happens.

I feel bad for the guy, he doesn't get an oppurtunity to play the game he loves and was given a chance to live his dream. Yet his body can't stay healthy. That is pretty sad.

Can't imagine how he feels.

I'm not mad at anybody.

The folks that are mad are the people like you who resent the fact that people like me, who pay their hard earned money to keep the NFL merry-go-round going , want Matt Johnson gone because he can't stay healthy. None of this is personal, but you and your cohorts who love Matt Johnson and I guess your notion of the little guy/underdog make it personal because you can't defend him otherwise. You can't because the facts aren't on your side and he is what he is. Again, he has been here for three years and he can't even make it through a quarter of a training camp. He hasn't played in any meaningful games and hasn't contributed anything. You can't defend his play because, well, he hasn't played at all.................in three years.

It's really that simple and you and people like you are making this really more than it is.

There is no reason why we have lost as much as we have the last 18 years. We have people like you around the organization that actually lobby and defend people who are here for years that have never stepped foot on a football field for any meaningful snaps.

Do you think the Patriots or the Seahawks would keep this glassman around for as long as we have? Nope. And that's probably why they have won Super Bowls recently while we have been praying we'll just get over .500.

As far as I go, I am very successful in my career choice and I guarantee you that if, for some reason, I couldn't perform for over three years I wouldn't be successful in my career. That's just life. Well I guess that's just life for everybody except Matt Johnson. We can keep wasting roster spots for guys like him while other teams are using their roster spots for guys that can actually stay healthy and help them win Super Bowls.

Awww....isn't that cute. Someone thought they were smart.

I already stated in previous posts that we should move on from him because he just isn't going to be able to stay healthy.

I guess reading isn't a fundamental building block for you. I'm sorry to see that.

Really feel sorry for Johnson. His dream may be over. At least with the Cowboys. I would not take joy in that as some apparently will.

Man, that dude needs to walk away from football. At least they can go forward with figuring out the real safety situation now that the inevitable has happened.

Agreed. Now give Ahmad Dixon a shot.

I don't care what you said in previous posts. It obviously wasn't all that enlightening which is probably why I never notice your posts.

If you take the time to quote one of my posts, I'm going to respond.

You also think that Matt Johnson has the talent to play in the NFL. How on earth you think you know that is beyond anything sane. He has never played a down of meaningful football. He has barely played a down of preseason football and there are people here who proclaim that its just his health holding him back.

You have no idea if he could be a good player in this league if he could stay healthy. You just listen to Jerry tell you something and go with it.

If you know what Jerry said about him. Do you know what the coaches and scouts say about him?
