Yes, I think Spears was a great pick. Matt Jones has a lot of upside, but you still don't know how he'll pan out as a wide receiver.

Absolutely we did the right thing. Matt Jones was never even on my radar and I was one calling for a WR to be taken early (I wanted Clayton or White). A player changing positions coming out of college is a gamble under any circumstances and you see how well we do with gambles. Better to go with Spears as a known commodity. BTW Spears was my pick for the #11 spot so you can imagine how tickled I was that he fell to us at #20; that was totally unexpected.

I was a huge Matt Jones fan. Not sure I remember once calling for a favorite to be picked as I figured Parcells would do the right thing and I thought it would be defense.

But I don't regret Spears. We should have a tremendous DL not only with him but Canty and Ware.

Sure am interested to see what the guy will do though. Awesome athlete.

i wanted us to get matt jones big time. patrick crayton may take some of the sting out ...................yep, i'm sure of it. patrick will take the sting out. i think marcus will turn out to be a great pick as well. one thing i know spears is if nothing else.... a class act.

No regrets so far. Matt has good straight line speed, but I'm not sure if he has good quickness in/out of his cuts. Also, I haven't seen any wiggle ability yet. I wanted him in rd.2, but he's to big a risk to take in rd.1 for a team that's rebuilding. Still, I like him a lot, so I hope he turns into a good player, but I hope Spears turns into a GREAT player/leader for the 'boys.

How can this question even be answered if Spears hasn't even played a down for the Cowboys?

I've been watching the game all along but a nice catch in a preseason game is about as important as a Macy Brooks catch years ago.

Yes, it was a nice catch, but if you also saw the next play he stood there and watched 2 defenders run right past him and make a tackle of the RB behind the line of scrimmage.

Spears was the correct pick, and in my opinion, will be the better of the two over the long haul.
