Austin is fast. Thats it. There is really nothing more to him.

Where did you read he is developing nicely??? He cant run sharp routes, he cant catch very well, and doesnt have any agility or wiggle to him on kickoff returns.

I hope him and Hurd are cut and we bring in Walker and a 1st round draft pick.

i saw him get open and consistently force DBs to get interference penalties. hes fast and gets open. unfortunately his hands are not very good.

he dropped 2 passes all year, one because he was looking to get upfield

I don't think his hands are a problem at all

Talking about it on 103.3 right now... Says he just talked to some people at Valley Ranch and they say we still have high interest in Walker. He even puts it at a 70% chance that we sign him eventually.

FWIW.

i speculate he's either right or wrong.

gee - i could do this for a living!

but how many times was he thrown to brah. not very much but the fact he gets open routinely when he does get a chance means he is showing promise.

Wanting a new contract doesn't make you a headcase, IMO. Sitting out during the offseason to try to get said contract doesn't make you a headcase. He showed up at training camp to honor his contract, but blew his knee out in the first game, I believe. Again, not headcase material to me.

He actually performed well in Denver his first year. His knee was the problem as was shifting to a young quarterback and being outperformed by Brandon Marshall. I've read he and Brandon didn't get along. It certainly didn't help to witness the murder of one of his friends.

I just don't see headcase there. I may have issues with his injury history, but I'm not all that concerned about the mental side.

T.O. did much worse in the public eye and he's accepted by fans here, for the most part.

I agree that Austin has shown alot of promise, but to base his hands on 2 dropped passes...mmm idk

I'm not really advocating either/or, just pointing out what he's done that can have people consider him a headcase, it's all about perception

it's not like he called Marion Barber a head-case, see what I'm sayin'?

granted its a small sample size but he was thrown at only about 9 times caught 5 balls dropped tow and was interfered with for two.

they also didnt start inserting him into the offense until the end of the year but the fact they did means that the coaches must of liked how he was coming along.

I think hes going to be one to watch next year especially during the preseason. hes got a taste so hopefully it will impel him to work his backside off.

Maybe headcase is a bit strong, but he's definitely been a whiney... baby.

And he supposedly didn't get along with Brandon Marshall.

But... They said there was a quote from him in the Denver paper saying something like, "People say I can't be content as a #2, but wait till they see who my #1 is about to be." (I haven't looked for the quote myself.)

I dunno. I was all for getting him a couple of years ago, but now the knee would scare me off.

Not suggesting you were doing either.

When it first came out that he wanted out of Green Bay, I really paid attention to what was going on with his situation, cuz he was a player that had alot of potential...that I could see playing for the 'boys. The biggest controversy I noted was when Favre spoke out of turn (IMO) about Walker's contract.

same here, people keep screaming that we need to add a speed receiver, when he's already on the roster, I liked how he toasted Green Bay's secondary, and was hoping to see more of that, but got robbed, I'm definitely looking out for him next year

yeah, that was pretty crappy what Favre did

but he's the closest thing to Lombardi...I guess

Now making the assumption that the Cowboys doctors bring him in and say the knee is okay what do you do at that point?

i know a lot of people are concerned about the knee with all the rumors about how he might need microfracture but under the assumption he passes a physical then what do you do?

Marshall was the one who originally got into it with the guys who killed Darrent Williams. That may be why he didn't get along with Marshall.
