Dirk is slapped on his wrist and/or elbow on about 50% of his shots. I've watched every second of every game and on instant replays of his makes you'd see him getting slapped and there would be no call. This is the first game where the officiating has actually been decent. Except I'm not sure how you miss the backcourt violation when you're a professional referee.

Wowwwwwwwww I can't disagree more. Officiating has been absolutely horrible on both sides.

Well, that's probably because you're a bandwagon Heats fan that has never played a minute of basketball in your entire life. Do you also like the Yankees?

Nope. But I can clearly see a foul when one has been committed and when it's not.

You're insane if you watched last nights game and agree with every call/non call. The officiating in this sport is rivaling soccer's.:lmao:

It hasnt been good by any stretch, but it has steadily improved over the course of the three games. I said from the start it would be a great series IF the refs didnt concede a ton of free throws to Miami simply because Wade and Lebron recklessly throw themselves into the lane, and thus far they havent.

I also said after game one Miami was getting away with hacking during rebounds and over the back on a regular basis and it appears the league noticed and addressed it. The Heat were called for eight loose ball/over the back type fouls last night.

Last night you saw how good the Heat still are even without a free pass to create contact and get to the line. They don't need any extra help. On the flip side, if Terry hits that wide open three inside a minute to go we're probably having a much different conversation right now and the media is blaming the refs for the loss.

Turnovers and missed open looks have completely killed us. They had at least 10+ points off our turnovers last game.

And if Uno has one degree with his literacy rate, I completely give up on the American education system.

what do you think this volley ball ????????????????????????????

and see thats why I think Dirk is punk

a couple years ago he would have been crying to the refs

glad they made that new rule

and you think Wade an Lebron are not ???????????????

get a clue - man up a little

I did play college ball

I will tell you Basket Ball was the hardest sport to play IMO

first you get no pads to help you from the flying elbows - eye pokes - etc

and so many little things you can get away with

and one of the most beautiful shots to me is the baseline jumper

you have nothing to gage it by - just the basket

I was a baseline all around shooter - my old man who was no slouch at BB always said dam boy how do you do that

eye hand coordination

What happened last night was what a game looks like when Wade and Lebron arent rewarded for just thundering through the lane and throwing the ball off the glass in hopes of a foul call and over the back is actually called on a consistent basis. Miami had 13 more fouls because they play so aggressive.
what happened last night is what a game looks like when Dallas' interior D looks like Moses parting the Red Sea.

I disagree, Dallas held Miami to 88 points which should be good enough to win. Dallas just cannot hit their open jumpers with consistency this series and are turning the ball over too much.

The fact of the matter is that Wade and Lebron both created irrelevant contact on multiple occasions and it was never called, which is typically not the case. If the refs call every game like last night, I think Dallas still has a decent shot. A third of Miami's offense is free throws, and when they don't get a game gift wrapped to them at the line they are extremely beatable.

I disagree,
and you'd be wrong. you just want to blame losses on anything except the fact that your team just got beat, but I understand, they brainwash you aggies into this at Fish Camp. if the Mavs would just knock down open jumpers they would would win but credit Miami for making them rush their shots.

Observances:

Dirk needs help on offense. Terry is the most likely having shown in the past that he can hit clutch shots, but he hasn't been there for us to lean on in this series.

The Heat are way too athletic for the Mavs to just try to go at toe to toe, and the Mavs are going to have to play better as a team to counteract the difference in athleticism. Ball movement and moving without the ball has to be the key - we can't outrun and outjump the Heat, but a moving ball can. As it is we are doing too much standing around - dribbling in one place while plays try to develop or trying one on one moves, and that just gives Miami's athletes more time to swarm. We end up forcing passes or forcing shots.

Kidd and Barea need to understand their roles. They are the guys entrusted with protecting and distributing the ball, and they are being reckless with it. Kidd seems intent on making the spectacular pass only to find there isn't anyone in the spot he is passing too, or the ball can't get through the eye of the needle he is trying to thread. Barea too often thinks he is a 6'7" leaper who can drive the middle of the lane.

Someone has to be a presence in the middle and stop Wade and LeBron and others from driving down the middle of the lane for easy layups or dunks.

Bottom line is the Heat get way too many easy shots, and the Mavs have to force way too many poor shots. It's amazing the Mavs have kept it close. If they can tweek some things hopefully we can see things shift in the Mavs favor.

Logically, this simply doesnt make sense. Let's assume Dallas did give Miami a free pass into the lane as you suggest (which also makes no sense, seeing as Miami had 88 points and shot 41%). That would be the very definition of a team beating themselves seeing as Dallas has shown they are capable of defending the basket all season long.

I'm saying Miami was better because they beat us without the refs help and without Dallas playing poor defense. YOUR argument is the one in which the blame falls on Dallas for failing to perform.

the guy was throwing up bricks the whole second half, not sure how anyone could be happy with his performance. he killed the Mavs.

Terry is doing about what he's done all season, I'm not sure why anyone would expect him to suddenly turn into a 25 pt a game guy when he was a 15 pt a game guy all year.

He said the guy was throwing up bricks, and he was. Terry has only made 38.2% of his shots in the finals. Surely you would agree we should expect more than that.

Absolutely. I'm not saying he's playing well, but how much better can you expect him to be?

I think the Laker series may have fooled some into thinking he was going to be Wade to Dirk's Lebron, and that's never been the case.

Even with Terry putting up bricks, the Mav's almost won the game, so laying the loss at his feet just seems a little unfair to me.

Winning in the playoffs is different than a regular season. It's not a marathon anymore, it's a sprint to the finish against the best in the league. Dirk is scoring 5-6 more ppg in the playoffs, but others have to respond as well. I don't expect Terry to go from a 15 ppg guy to a 25 ppg guy, but I don't expect a dropoff either. He's really our best hope to step up and take some of the pressure off Dirk, so that's what I am looking for. Maybe it's only increasing his scoring a little, or maybe not at all, but he needs to be able to score enough, with a high enough percentage of success that it's not all on Dirk. A couple of other guys need to step up a little as well.
