I'm worried about this match-up, but I will be one happy Mavs fan if they win the championship!!

I do like LeBron - Mostly because he's a loyal Cowboys fan.

I saw this posted by Mosley on Twitter quoting Bulls player Noah:
Noah on the Heat (TNT): "They're Hollywood as %&*$." :laugh2:
It actually irritates me a bit that he is not a Browns fan--as he grew up almost his whole life close to there. But seeing that their owner took the team to Baltimore during LeBron's lifetime, I guess that gives him some leeway.

I also noticed him wearing a Yankees hat....so to me he just seems like he chases the popular teams with no real loyalty otherwise.

Oh well, I guess the man can follow whomever he chooses.

Not a Heat fan just a fan of the game. Don't understand the hate.

cHeat's and ---holes?? If you want to get on Lebron for the decision I wont defend that. Wade is a likeable star. Bosh has been the butt of many jokes from fans and media and he is playing big time. All 3 sacrificed money, stature, and ball possessions for the purpose of rings.
Bibby gave up a 6 mill contract. Cant hate on Mike Miller (finally making couple of shots) and Haslem (injured all year). Joel Anthony has been playing his tail off doing the dirty work.
I assume you say cHeats because you think NBA tries to rigs games by having the refs favor a certain team. I don't believe in that stuff.
It's pretty obvious that Miami violated tampering rules to get James and Bosh. It was planned years in advance.

People call them the cHeat because it's become painfully obvious that the league wants them to win it all.

Lebron is certainly developing into a great defender and cluch performer. He is bigger and more athletic than Jordan was and so I think his defensive ceiling is higher if he really works at it. Jordan was a great defender, but Lebron can guard all 5 positions on the court.

I think 10 years from now, IF Lebron has several rings, it will be a legitimate debate

I can't agree that LeBron is more athletic, or that his defensive ceiling is higher. I will agree that LeBron is more versitle though in that he can defend more positions than Jordan. That's the one thing LeBron has over Jordan. But Jordan was quicker and anticipated better on defense, and every bit as explosive, or more so, on offense. Jordan was a better ball handler as well.

Im conflicted. I like LeBron but dont want to see them start a sick run of dominance in year 1. It would be like when I was rooting for the Pats in the early 2000's before I new what terrible people they would turn out to be.

If the new CBA does not have a MLE that will hurt them though. I will take Deron/Dwight over LeBron and Bosh for the next 7 years if Wade starts to break down

OTOH I love Kidd's game but he is still a Net in my mind. And also he hit his wife

Cuban is somewhat annoying and also Jason Kidd hit his wife.

Prediction: Mavs in7

Hold it....did I read that right?
You are saying LeBron is more athletic than quite possibly THE most athletic NBA player in history? They don't get anymore athletic than Michael Jordan in his prime.

Compare apples and apples. They are 20 years removed, so keep that in mind.

I didn't know that! I saw his ex-wife on a reality show. Gorgeous woman. I wondered why they broke up.

Him hitting her probably didnt help.

I also heard she was crazy and would stalk him and other players and what-not.

And that she is a crazy media hound. Thats what promted Bob Ryan to say on ESPN that he would like to "smack her".

After it was later revealed that she did like the cameras he went on to basically say he felt vindicated

I would say if you lined them up side by side Lebron is much stronger and faster then Jordan. LeBron has been underrated for a year now and I didnt think it was possible.

He shut down the #1 seeds only weapon and he will probably guard Dirk a bunch this series. (Wade needs to step up on offense b/c that will tire LeBron out).

Youre talking about guarding a 6'2" lightning fast PG and then a 7'0" perimeter shooter w/ every post move in the book. Best player in the league and its not even close

he would have signed with the spurs back in the summer of 03 too if it wasnt for his crazy ex wife. Granted i dont condone hitting under any circumstances, she didnt seem to be all there in the head.

i wish he would have divorced her a while ago, we prob would have won 2 more titles with him in SA

who says he is faster? and even if he was why does that matter? is the fastest guy ever the best RB, receiver, quarterback, or anything else in ANY sport besides track? emmitt smith was slower than chris johnson and weaker than brandon jacobs, does that mean he isnt as good? absolutely not!

Lebron might be the best player in the league, but thats mainly because the other great talents are either past their prime or not in it yet, think about it, none of the other greatest players are close in age besides dwight howard. at this point in his career, lebron is no better than DR J, much less Jordan

Nah, he was happy in NJ and they were starting to build something. Then the new majority owner cut costs b/c he was only focused on moving to Brooklyn. So after the team went in the tank Kidd faked a migraine to force a trade out of NJ

I didnt say LeBron was a better player then Jordan, hes probably just a better athlete if you put them through all the drills. And no on currently in the league was or is capable of the things he is. Defensively and how he runs an offense.

And I think Chris Johnson is better than Emmit.....I said it

Lebron is the most athletic player in the history of the NBA and you won't find many people who will argue otherwise. Nobody has ever come close to his combination of size, speed and leaping ability. Lebron James is 6'8", 260. He is the equivalent of an NFL defensive end running a 4.3 40 with a 48" vertical.

I can't disagree on who is the best right now. That's your call. If you like LeBron...fine with me. He's pretty amazing.

As for the other post by 'Slant....James' most common 40 time is 4.5 and his known verical is 41"...both amazing. There have been rumors that he once ran a 4.3 forty, but as a football fan, we know you go by the 90% occurance and not the 1% one. That 48" verical is just not true. I hear mostly 41 but have even heard 44"

Either way, that is freakish stuff for a man that big.
So your point well taken.

Oh, I think you would get plenty of people that would argue.

Most would put him right up near the top, - probably most in the top 2, but you will get a heck of a lot of people that would put Jordan's athleticism above LeBron's.

The reality is they are both fast guys who can jump through the roof. Lebron is the stronger and more powerful of the two, and Jordan is the quicker (not necessarily faster - we are talking basketball, not sprints) and more fluid of the two.

Either is a worthy candidate for "most athletic in NBA history", but neither is clearly above the other.

I am very interested to see what is to come of his video series for the finals. However, take it with a grain of salt. After all, it is TD.

Really?

I watch games all the time where the refs will start hammering a team with fouls just because they have a double digit lead.

LOL @ the NBA calling a travel on the biggest star in the league! I still believe the NBA refs are more corrupt than FIFA
