Maybe he doesn’t like the front office? Maybe he doesn’t like Kidd? Who knows. Luka comes across as a spoiled child.
The Mavs went straight to the Lakers and asked if they were interested. And traded him quickly. That’s strange. They didn’t do a bidding war like most franchises would. They traded him to the first team they called for an often injured PF and a 1st. It’s weird.

This seems like a weird injury trade with both teams hoping the one injured guy helps more. Seems Lakers scored but I don’t know about this fit
Wouldn't surprise me if LeBron is also on his way out, he has a NMC clause but pretty sure he'd be willing to waive it to go to a contender for one last championship run. The opportunity to add a young generational player like Doncic was probably too good to pass on for the Lakers and they were willing to potentially throw away this season to make it happen.

And from a Mavs perspective, this move doesn't make any sense even if AD is still an amazing player when healthy. I hope Luka asked for a trade because otherwise... yikes.

Or maybe Jerry Jones won a bet with the Mavs owner and payment was that Jerry got to control the Mavs for a day. He got a first round pick back so give the man credit, lol.

He may have asked for a trade, but if he did you get more for him then ONE FIRST ROUND PICK. You don’t go straight to the Lakers, who have nothing you should want. You have a generational talent, you get the biggest haul u can. They obviously did not do that. It’s bizarre.

There has to be something going on with Luka's health that we don't know. AD is a great player but the Mavs should've recieved more than one 1st round pick for a generational talent like Luka. The Mavs also sending out a 2nd round pick as well is the ultimate kick in the sack.

Everything I'm seeing is saying this trade was quietly done by Nico Harrison without many or ANY other team executives involved.

It is. It’s very weird. They didn’t even wait until the deadline. They should’ve got a hall of future first rounders.

An absolute betrayal. The worst sports moment in Dallas history.

I’m furious in a way the Cowboys have never, ever, made me feel.

It was much less of an impact but I remember Nash being let go via free agency. And their argument was age. I could get behind Luka trade but intentionally not having a bidding war is odd to me.
