Wouldn't surprise me if LeBron is also on his way out, he has a NMC clause but pretty sure he'd be willing to waive it to go to a contender for one last championship run. The opportunity to add a young generational player like Doncic was probably too good to pass on for the Lakers and they were willing to potentially throw away this season to make it happen.

And from a Mavs perspective, this move doesn't make any sense even if AD is still an amazing player when healthy. I hope Luka asked for a trade because otherwise... yikes.
LeBron is not leaving the Lakers. He forced them to draft his kid. He’s not leaving him behind.

Not a huge basketball fan, but what is truly criminal is NOT EVEN SHOPPING HIM to get the best deal…Booger was just let off the hook for a spell.
The worst part of this deal by far is, what would Danny Ainge have gotten for Luka if he were the GM and felt like he needed to move him

This is either going to work out by Dallas upsetting OKC and getting to the finals, or Nico Harrison is going to be fired within 2 years of today

I don’t even watch the NBA anymore, but even I know it’s a superstar league.

Finding a young superstar is like winning the lottery and gives your franchise a15 year window of success, on the court and financially.

Finding another one is an absolute crapshoot.

This is arguably the dumbest move in Dallas sports history.

In the short term, I think it’s a wash for Dallas. Maybe the best defense in the league now, and still a good offense but maybe too much pressure on Kyrie now. For the Lakers, this hurts them this season. They have no bigs and no defense. But can’t blame LA. You can’t pass on an opportunity like this. It is interesting because they’re wasting a year for LeBron who is running out of time.

Thought this was a hoax
Guess not

After being a die-hard premier season ticket holder for 25 years, I mostly dumped the Mavs and the NBA a few years ago.
Have not looked back

Good luck to all though

I agree. I get why both teams did it. What I don’t get is why the Mavs did it now. It just seems like Luka had more value with his age.

I vented last night and today I'm just upset they took the Mavs from me. Started watching in the late 80s, and we've waited for a guy like Luka and these idiots trade him in his prime.I certainly have my tin foil hat on because nothing about this trade makes sense, and anyone believes what Nico said, congrats, your a gullible sheep. Anyways, my Cowboys coping mechanism is destroyed, and I guess I'm stuck with the Cowboys lol. LFG Jerry n Shotty!

How do you not get at least 3 firsts in that trade? Anthony Davis is a great all around player, but he has been injury prone his whole career. He has played more than 70 games 3 times in 13 years. He is 31 with a history or both back and lower body injuries.

Jerry Jones just got a break in the Big D market. :muttley:

If Anthony Davis was in his 20's and not so injury prone, I'd say this was a fair deal.

Always thought Luca was overrated. Out of shape, no defense, relies on god given talent. Another James Harden type putting up impressive numbers but team isn't going anywhere.

I mean truthfully he is Harden but he’s had better teams around him. Harden has played with stars that weren’t great fits. Davis is older than I thought. I guess he was in his 20s before he got to La I was thinking he was late 20s. No question one of the best big men in the league. If healthy.

I honestly think Jerry is upset lol. I think bad or good he wants to dominate headlines.
