Mayowa, Russell, Tapper, Irving

Mehh. Ayers is 30 and got 10.5 Million guaranteed, Mario is 31 and got 12 Million guaranteed. I would rather roll with a much younger guy with upside at a much lower price but that's just me.

You could cut Williams after this year with only a $2MM dead money hit. Miami got a pretty decent deal with him.

So essentially you are saying you'd rather have Russell than Williams?

We paid too much? What? What does that have to do with anything? We drafted him in the 2nd round and he's a starter for us and he looks like a starter. He's not Demarcus Ware but I don't think we ever asked him to be. There's a lot of problems with this defense and Lawrence is the LEAST of them. He's the one bright spot.

Except he won't see the field for the first four games.

Does anyone else find it mind-numbing that we're now heading into YEAR FOUR of this defensive scheme and this is the best our front office has been able to come up with?!

For a defensive coordinator who's predicating his entire gameplan around creating pressure on the QB, this is simply unacceptable.

"In Rod we trust" has produced nothing but failure at this point. I have not liked his results at all. This is s DC that kept Hayden on this roster as a starter. That is enough for me. He is not a miracle worker and these no-name defensive lineman hasn't panned out at all. He has done a poor job of talent evaluation and he couldn't control the talent that he had (Hardy).

We gave a 2nd and 3rd for Lawrence.

Ok so what? That means he can't play? He made a mistake and he's owning up to it. Just like Von MIller did when he missed 6 games a few years back. It happens. Hope he learns from it like Von did and just move on.

I'm aware of that I just don't know what that has to do with anything. He was a 2nd round pick therefore he should be judged like a 2nd round pick. Its not his fault the Cowboys gave up a 3rd rounder for him. He's performed about as well as a 2nd round pick should at this point. Once again I don't know why Lawrence is the topic of discussion. He's the best defensive linemen we have and its probably not even close.

The one bright spot is missing a minimum of a quarter of the season.

Everything about this post is wrong. Oh, he was supposed to control Hardy? Exactly how was he supposed to do that? He is a DC not a babysitter.

Name one player that he has developed. As for Hardy, there have been worse behavioral problems handled by coaches.

The general consenses is Marinelli deserves a ton a credit for the work he has done with little talent to work with. Other than a few draft picks sprinkled in here and there he's had substandard talent to work with. Add to that the historic injury situation we have experienced on that side of the ball recently it's unbelievable we got through it without any losing seasons until the Romo/Dez disaster last year.

Lawrence is in the discussion because he is suspended and has not shown anything close to being worth a 2 & 3.

Not a player that is worth gutting the draft for.

Dez Bryant, Cole Beasley, Travis Frederick, Zack Martin, La'el Collins, Byron Jones...dang it, I'm sorry, you said ONE.

Marinelli didn't develop those offensive and 1st round draft picks

Ole Rod is out there teaching Dez how to run routes, eh?

I think he is glued to his defensive players...as to learning, there is a lot and plenty going around.

Now answer this...if Irving, Mayowa, Collins, Crawford, Lawrence, Russell, or Tapper become strong players...you going to give credit to Marinelli?

Honestly we had nice depth but now these guys got thrown to the front of the battlefield and have to prove something. Especially mayowa and tapper. I do like Thornton and Crawford in the middle. That will definitely help

I think Marinelli gets credit for Tyrone Crawford and DLaw developing.

I disagree that trading up for DLaw was a mistake because pass rushers are rare and expensive, look at the Giants paying Oliver Vernon 85 Million.

I do think a case can be made that Marinelli is given too much credit like Jnday says, but the heavy lifting Marinelli has done was turning below average guys like Selvie into average players (for a while) and the year our DTs were signed off the street on a Monday and playing the following Sunday. Turning a complete disaster into a minor disaster is still good coaching.

Keep up. I was referring to the defensive side of the ball , but the one example you gave us wrong. Jones hasn't developed into anything yet.

I will give him some credit when it is deserved. I am waiting for the defense to something.
