Exactly. Some guys are just too anxious to criticize. Like you said, Mazi is doing just what he's supposed to do, and that has been missing on our DL till now.

He's the same guy who wanted Dallas to draft the tiny safety from TCU , Adarius Washington, in rd 2, about 2 years ago. The kid busted. I can say more, but I'll leave that alone. Mazi is like most rooks, learning on the fly. He will be fine. My point is, buyer beware of the YT football experts especially in preseason. Much tends 2 change as things play out.

exactly, and we saw that last night. The linebackers were filling the gaps and making plays. Thats defense 101. I never seen a LB getting manhandled 5-10 yards down field all night. It was nice. We have major beef in the trenches.

I think Mazi will do more than just "eat space", but that's probably further down the road. As far as using a 1st round pick is concerned, it was a late 1st in a draft that wasn't particularly strong up top. I don't know if there were any other DT 's that they felt were as good as Mazi later in the draft.
