When Ron Jones signed, the door closed. If Zeke wanted to be here, he’d be here. They clearly offered him a package to be the back-up and he refused it.
Since, in regards to Schutz going to the Texans, "reports" are the gospel truth, per CBS Sports, Athlons, Sports Illustrated and other "sources", we have this:

However, according to Stephen Jones, the team may have managed his departure to perfection.

The team did not offer Elliott a reduced contract before cutting him for one specific reason, as Jones explains: “The last thing we want to do is do anything that would be insulting to a player, to a great player, like Zeke, who was one of the best players to ever put on a Cowboys uniform. There are sensitivities when you get into making offers.”

So your "clearly" is just opinion/guessing. Which is fine, just not it as such so we're all clear about it....

Because some people that actually watch the game and have any type of critical thinking from watching the games can see he just doesn't have it anymore and at his money restricts Dallas from signing other better players, it was time to move on.....not HATE

I love Witten, but the Cowboys should have never allowed him to come back, he was done two years prior to retiring and Dallas should have moved on from him....not HATE

I loved the Sean Lee pick in the second round but again it was time to move on from him when his skills diminished....not HATE

And the only people that use the term "Hate" as their argument usually have no argument, so they try to label others with this 12 year old term, Haters!...
Classic. And the critical thinking part...priceless, lol.

Making 1 yard TD runs can easily be replaced by any number of draftable RBs.
No, it is just not that easy. They need to be a top drafted RB unless they get very lucky.
Even the team said Pollard is not that type of RB.

Please no...just when the team looks like it's starting to get it...draft one in the 4th or later to fill that role.

Feels like Witten redux and that was just sad.

Does anyone have any evidence that Zeke is a great short yardage back? One of the guys on The Fan or a Dallas Cowboys official podcast said that is just empirically not true, that he was like league average.

I have no idea, I never thought he was special, but you know eyeballs and data are different animals.

Zeke is an above average short yardage back when he is healthy. When he has a knee injury, he is below average.

Kinda like going back to your ex-wife and try to rekindle things ....same problems, same situation....does not end pretty. Let it go....
That's just Mike giving a media soundbite. He's hardly going to say "we couldnt wait to get rid of him, and there's no chance he'd ever play for us again".

Nope...there some hate around. It's part of human nature. Some people need self validation by tearing down other people.

Making up lies about zeke...just to validate their opinion? HATE.

Ridiculing for raising his hand to come out, then ridiculing for playing injured, or playing poorly injured? HATE.

Making fun of his appearance...like children on the playground? It's hate.

There's certainly other issues going on here...especially the self validation part. But if ya think the vile "hate" has no part in this you are kidding yourself.

People finally got what they wished for and instead of being glad and wishing him well in whatever endeavor comes next....they continue crapping on him. Good human beings and all.

IMHO there are two Zekes. There is pre contract Zeke. That guy was amazing. He wore belly tuxedos. He was lean and mean, fast and explosive. Then there is post contract Zeke. That guy was slow and ineffective. That is fat Zeke. If he didn't want to end up with a nickname like fat Zeke he should not have fallen all the way to 3.8 YPC and 4.0 YPT.
