Dak is slightly better than Cooper Rush.
McCarthy is slightly better than Zimmer.

The Cowboys would have had almost the same record with Rush at QB vs Dak at QB.

The Cowboys would have had almost the same record with Zimmer as HC vs McCarthy as HC.

Not even worth worrying about losing any of them.

And he'll probably do well with a normal front office. He can't overcome the Jones factor. It's possible, no one can, but we know he cannot.

He's not my favorite coach but I do think it fitting if the entire staff walks after Jerry tries to re-sign them.
Me either, would be hilarious if that happens. I could care less either way if they keep MM. It's not going to matter anymore with Dak signed for YEARS. ugh.

MM needs to go, while he can still salvage his name. He's a good coach, but doesn't have the sack or psychological prowess to manipulate Jerry.
Never thought I'd say this, but Pete Carroll is cool and calm enough to call the shots under the radar and let Jerry have the credit. He can also put together a good staff.
No to Carroll, too old. The Jaguars would be a good choice for McCarthy, maybe even the Bengals if they fire their HC.

Everything he's took over, has regressed. Everything! Don't think for a second he's getting off cause of injuries. He hasn't been a good coach. He dosent maximize his players potential.

We will probably know more this week. If they do intend to keep him, they don't want him on the market

With Garrett he had no market and everyone knew he wasn't getting an extension
McCarthy still has that SB title on his resume.,.. Garrett never had such credentials.

And his utter flop job as NYGiants OC made him that much more exposed than ever.

He'll never get another HC gig again in the NFL.

..I feel McCarthy is up for the challenge. He knows Dallas,.owners and players.
Why go somewhere else and start over?

People still defending MM really boggles my mind, how many excuses can you continue to come up with. The coach should have been fired after the playoff debacle at home against SF when they committed the most penalties in boys history, then after completely having his team unprepared to play a home playoff game last year, on top of being arguably the worst clock management head coach I’ve ever seen, and THIS is not even mentioning his awful play calling this year taking them over. I hope that some other team forces jerry to let this guy go, it will be the first step to headed back in a better direction
A lot of what you said I agree with, however it has happened to every other coach since Parcells left. Literally the same crap has happened over and over again no matter who is coaching. And it will continue with whomever is here next year and we all know why.

And I wouldn't be surprised to see him succeed somewhere else. We have five years to show us he can't do any better here than any of the others we've had since Jimmy/Barry. So since we're not going to change owners/GM ... next!

to have the choice of being his own man ... being in control of his choices of players - and coaches, his own OC and DC, ..and not being under the Jones' rain cloud.

Mike McCarthy led a team that has Dak Prescott as it's QB to three 12 win seasons in a row and the seasons where Dak was out the team never quit. You think that guy won't have any interest? There is only so many Ben Johnsons to go around.

Honestly, i dont care if he stays or goes

Signing Dak sealed our fate for the next 4 years anyways
Keeping Jerry as GM, Is worse than the Dak contract.
Jerry is absolutely keeping this team from any SB aspirations.
29 years and counting to even get to a NFCCG.

It really doesn't matter what coach we get. Jerry will sabotage it. Parcells couldn't even completely overcome the meddling and culture of Jerry and he had more control than any coach since Johnson. We need a coach that would stand up to Jerry and demand some control to instill actual discipline and that's something Jerry won't tolerate.

So McCarthy or not, we're screwed. Anyone who believes otherwise didn't learn the lessons of the 49ers playoff game and the Packers playoff game. McCarthy is an okay coach. I won't say he's a good coach because he doesn't have the intestinal fortitude to do what's right for the team. He'd rather say "Yes, sir" and collect the paycheck and let Jerry keep undermining things.
