JMO, but feels Carroll to Chicago seems more likely. Gruden here feels more likely. Gruen went into Tampa and took an existing underperforming roster to a SB and won. I could see Jerry thinking the same thing here. And I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad idea for the short term, but mist definitely not a long term plan.

Yeah they said he didn’t ask for it but I don’t see why he wouldn’t. He earned his pay….no salary cap for coaches so these owners need to pay up

I wasn't in the room but IMHO, they could have easily worked that out. Like agreeing on 3 years with an option for 2 more if his record was = to or > X# of wins/playoff wins etc..

I think JJ knew MM wouldn't accept the details of a re-up (less than 4 yrs, and probably not market value or incentive based) and now gets what he wants in a media speculation circus for who will be the next coach smack dab in the middle of the playoffs
