McCarthy working overtime to turn it around

We saw this passing offense sputtering before the 49ers game. Why wasn't there a sense of urgency before that game. I watch other teams offenses use short crossing and deep crossing routes. Skinny post and bunch WRs and the mix it up so the crossing routes are run opposite at different levels to cause confusion. Dallas runs the same stupid straight routes every week. I think it's to dumb down the offense for a dumb QB.

It’s going to be interesting to see if the Cowboys have any fight left in them Monday night after what happened on Sunday night. If we come in flat against the Chargers, we’ll end up taking it on the chin again. The Cowboys have rebounded well from losses but this one could be a tough one the way they got ragdolled by the 49ers.
I think we lose to the Chargers...

He’s DEFINITELY part of it, make no mistake about it.
By that definition, being a Cowboy is being part of the problem.

I'll pray on that...

Mike, (and to all the other coaches too): please go home to your families and spend time with them. You only live once and in the end it's just a game. You sucked Sunday, your team sucked Sunday and probably most of the staff sucked Sunday. Working overtime for a week won't change things. We wouldn't have beaten SF even if we played them 10 times in a row. But there's a good chance this team will beat the Chargers whether you put in extra time or not.

So sleep well and better use the bye week to figure out what to do with your guy under center.
This involves identification and protection of routes...not talent or intelligence.

By the time McCarthy finishes his work this evening, Dak will have recorded 3 commercials for Tom Thumb, blockchain.com, and Pepsi.

Maybe a Sleep Number bed one too.

Voiceover: Sleeping on a regular bed?

"I did that and threw 3 INTs vs the 49ers"

This might help you understand some. It's an old article, but it's relevant to how Shannahan was able to make us look so soft out there. He's a details freak, and really knows how to get his message through to players. If you watch that whole game, not as a fan or rival of either team, but as a spectator, that's what you should see, I think. That's at least what I see.

McCarthy is in over his head. I think he could be a good HC or a good OC, but I think he'll be average doing both simultaneously.

Just my opinion, but it's been that way since they fired Moore and I haven't seen any evidence that would indicate to the contrary.

You sound bitter about the loss, yes? Or am I misreading you somehow?
Lines of communications will be established. In service, functional checks and balances occur constantly and there, if early, you are dead...or if late, you are also dead. Their communications will progress with their ability to anticipate real time communications as well.

Tail end of life? It's not like he's pushing 100.. He's 59. Still relatively young, in my book, especially in today's age. 59 is like the new 49.
The average age for a man in the us is 73, that's already 81% of his life lived. Let's push it to the age to 80, that's still 73% of his life lived, so yeah the tail end

In service, one was guaranteed only 4 hours sleep...but only if not deployed. Even more was always on the line.

Unfortunately not enough hours in the day to fix this mess.

You can't fix a soft culture overnight you need to draft players that want to win a super bowl more than anything not players who want to market their own brand and be businessmen like their owner
Fortunately, failure provides motivation...

Agree.

I know Jerry has made a lot of supportive statements in public…

But in the meeting room, it’s been different.

Everyone sees the problems.

So does Jerry and Stephen.
Don't think these players aren't whispering in the locker room too. They all saw it.

That makes me feel better. I'm a year younger than he is. lol

So blowing the dust off a 20 year old playbook and rolling it out there didn’t magically work?

I never understood this with older head coaches, you're at the tail end of your career, and kinda grim but you're also at the tail end of life. I know money is not an issue, why wouldn't you spend that time with family?
They love the game I guess.

He's probably just sitting in his office eating fried chicken with Netflix on the big screen. I'm not buying into him being as truly invested as this thread is making him out to be.

He's probably in hiding because he's afraid to show his face in public.

I was just saying to a buddy that Dallas would be a better team if MM would just put in some more hours. After all, the whole world knows that success in the NFL is about how much time coaches put in. SF destroyed us bc MM requires more sleep than shanahan.
