McCarthy's days are numbered

Won’t matter. The GM is bad, no coach is turning this dumpster fire organization into a Super Bowl team anytime soon.

The title of the thread could have been posted last January after the playoff loss to Green Bay.

How'd that turn out?

Agre3ed. They can bring in any great coach of the past. Make him young again-it won't matter. If you have an idiot running the team. No coach can ever fix that...

Earlier in the season I thought Mike would finish off the season and be let go.

However, I would not be shocked if they let him go early.

Either way I think the dance of who they will pick as next head coach is probably in the early stages.

I imagine there will be communications of possible coaching candidates starting.
MM proved that he could throw his laptop better than Prescott could throw a football today.

this has become a cliche at this point, too many people quote this

I think Big Mike is looking forward to it.

Maybe, when the Texans fans fill up JerryWorld in two weeks to see CJ Stroud light up the scoreboard, McCarthy can make it home for Turkey Day to watch Zimmer lose to the Giants.

All HC's days are numbered.

20 of the 32 NFL head coaches are in their 3rd year or less,

Three head coaches are in their tenth year or more. They have all taken their teams to multiple SB's and conference championship games throughout their tenure.

Five more HC's are in their 6th year to 9th year. They routinely take their teams deep into the playoffs

The average years a current NFL HC has been with his team this season is 4.4....provided they last the season.

Since 1970, the year the NFL and AFL merged, there have been 275 HC's in the NFL.

Of those 275 coaches, how many do you recall leaving the team on their own accord?

We never should have gotten rid of Garrett. We could be sittin pretty at 4-4 right now.

Agree. When the fellow buying the Groceries only buys from the mark down section of the store you don't get the best quality.

As others have said, end of the day no matter who Jerry brings in (or when), they will be set up for failure because at the end of the day, Jerry is the one who is really running things.

We can all bash MM, but who didn't see this was coming particularly when Jerry said he was "all in" earlier this year? Say if Henry was brought in earlier this year to help the run game which everyone could agree could help, but because of the line Henry didn't much for the Cowboys. At least Jerry couldn't say he didn't actually try. That said, he could have already known the ship was sinking. The issue is no one can figure out what is going on in his (Jerry's) brain with his line of thinking other than the fact that he is content with knowing he owns the most valuable NFL team.

Shame that Jerry chose to throw away another season in these guys careers. We'll have a retread next year like Belicheck, the defense will improve but the O will still suck.

The only question is now, when not if he quits or is fired. Could even be a mutual parting after we get roasted this week against Philly. MM Looks burnt out to me. I think that's how his friendly firing will be framed. It's how Jerry operates nowadays. Same way he handled Garrett but this will be in season. I see no scenario where Mike stays the full year.
