We did have a monster truck offensive line for the first few years he was here.
I mean they literally pancaked a lot of defenses.

Excellent pass blocker though.

"But then knowing that you have (Ezekiel Elliott). Zeke is still a premier back in the league. When you talk about short-yardage running, goal-line running, some of the things where we had problems, he gives you some of those answers. Plus his intelligence, helping the offense and doing those sorts of things. That’s a vet player that you get there."

One blade of grass per carry coming soon to a tv near you.

Zeke is definitely a team guy; a great locker room guy. But he’s past his prime. As it was said earlier in the thread, he’ll get ya that short yardage TD or that one or two yards needed for a first. But he’s no longer a second level threat
of course he’s older.

that 4.47 speed is gone.

but Zeke does at least two things that Dallas needs.

scores TDs and makes 1st downs.

the target is 10 TDS and 55 first downs.

He was an excellent pass blocker, there were some times he didn't look good in pass pro as he used to. His last year here it wasn't as great!

Everyone is speculating it depends on what type of shape Zeke comes in at.
He could be a little better than everyone expects if he is trained hard in the off season he's very serviceable at Short yardage goal line and blocking.

That said if he's out of shape and even slower and the rookies on the offensive line don't pan out and get abused we are done.

Because Dak is not pulling the rabbit out of the hat without some type of running game.

Zeke was great in his prime. Unfortunately 400 touches a season couldn't save Jason Garrett. When Zeke was let go nobody wanted him. There's a reason and that's because he is worn out.

Quotes like these from McClay are more tolerable if you accept that everything out of the mouths of the front office is propaganda. They literally are about headlines and cya all the time.

The Cowboys are the National Inquirer of the NFL.

Zekes value this year will be protecting Dak, or whoever is the QB

I love Zeke as a player.
If you need a yard, he'll get you a yard.
If you need 5 yards, he'll get you a yard...lol
But, I still like him. Dude got a raw deal early on.
Zeke got a raw deal? High pick, well paid, extended 2 years early and they immediately regretted it. The only issue was the 6 game suspension but in the grand scheme of things was no big deal.

3rd all time rusher in team history.

will soon overtake TonyD for 2nd place in rushing TDs.

ice cream is too cold I Guess?

1st contract was for Jerry. 2nd was for Zeke.

When Zeke left the Cowboys he was no longer premier. He was "premier" when we drafted him, but if he's become "premier" again, well that remains to be seen.
I agree. I'm just not sure why we would have EVER dumped a "premier" RB.

If Zeke was the answer on 3rd down and short yardage, we would never have let him go. Granted, the O line has shared responsibility in those failures. I love Zeke. The Zeke I saw in NE lost at least 2 steps
Hmmm… bit of a difference between the 15m base Zeke was under contract and the 3m he’s making currently eh?

Not sure why we can’t just all agree that we are elite at every single position
I think every player, including Zeke, needs to be signed for all time money at their positions. I mean, those are veteran players out there!
