Wasn't a fan of this signing myself, but I don't think many would think matching Murray's PHI deal would have been a better use of money. Or do they?

I would have preferred to pay Murray for 3 years. I don't like creating a question out of a strength.

The biggest mistake was the faith they showed in Randle. They should've treated him the same way they treated CMichael. Instead they handed him the starting job. We wasted a lot of time on them.

McFadden could have still been brought in to relieve Murray. Then a rookie like Ajayi, Buck Allen, Langford or TRawls.

He's turned out to be an excellent offseason pickup. We were able to run the ball and take pressure off the passing game and hence Romo could work magic when passing. Then it was great how we could grind it out to cement the win. This Robert Turbin is showing some promise too. It still may make sense to draft a running back and have competition for the starting job, but I definitely want McFadden to stick around.

DMac was the man today !!!!

Murray was a question no matter what you did with him. He wasn't ever going to repeat what he did last year. Much prefer that PHI got the answer to that particular question. They whiffed on Randle. Though he didn't play poorly when he was here. He was just not emotionally mature enough to handle the job.

At the end of the day, though, it's just a RB. We're doing fine at that position anyway, with the outlook getting even better here at year end now that we've got a passing game.

Murray wasn't a question. He has started 46 out of his last 49 games. He probably wouldn't get 2200 yards again, but 1600yds and 10+ TDs is worth a 5m cap charge. Brady won't throw for 50 TDs again but you will keep paying him every year to get 36 TDs.

Randle was the gigantic mistake. No way was he a lead back.

Murray-McFadden-Rawls-Dunbar is a top notch squad for a 7.5m cap hit.

Like I said it has taken us long enough, but I hope McFadden and Turbin can get us through the ROS.

McFadden and Turbin looked good out there - but shouldn't most RBs look good behind this line and with the weapons under center and split out wide? That was why Dallas picked them up for a song and let Murray go rob the Eagles.

this O-line is good but it isn't bullet-proof. doug free is the weak link and both tackles need to work on snap count issues.

Yeah Free looks so slow out there. Smith was off too but the Dolphins do have a stout front and he was "off". Free was just being his normal self getting pushed around or lapped.

It looks like Free has just reached the end of the line.

That's pretty much it. It would have been great to get Murray back, but the numbers just didn't work. Philly was willing to overpay him and we weren't. I'm glad we didn't overpay him because that would have meant we could not have pursued ways to shore up the defense. As for Randle, it's perfect 20/20 hindsight that he wasn't the guy. He did play well much of the time. I saw him turn nothing into something many times. If it hadn't been for his immature off-the-field antics, he would have been worth keeping around at the very least as a change-of-pace back.

Any time he go over 100, McFaddn prove his worth. When he dont thatist a concern.
I guess I would like to think off McFaden as consistent. As part off a long-range runner for us it is unlikey.
Jerra half lerned his lesson. In the draft jerra will be on a looksee for a RB and a QB and then secondary.

He was a huge question, and would have been an expensive mistake. It's a good thing we weren't the ones to make it. 135th in the league in terms of YPC. Not the most effective runner on his own team, and not even the most productive RB named 'Murray' in the league.

But, yeah, he'd have gotten 1,600 and 10 TDs again in Dallas if we'd extended him. Not to mention all the great stuff we'd have to look forward to in the later years of that contract.

Murray was most definitely a question. Any back coming off a 400-touch season would be a question. NFL history is littered with RBs whose production declined severely after a 400+ touch season (Eric Dickerson notwithstanding). He MAY have gotten 1600 all-purpose yards (1300 is more likely) in Dallas this year, but that's a very expensive question to have to answer.

I didn't hear much from Suh. Did he free up those other guys or did Martin handle him?

Butterfinger effect would be more likely.

Either way, he's gone. And the running game has been at the bottom of the list of things gone wrong this season. As the games started by Tony Romo ought to make pretty clear.

I still say that we should use Dmac in the pass game more, get him involved in some screens to get him in the open field, the dude is an excellent receiver.

Having Murray teamed alongside McFadden would have been a lethal combo. If it will take 8 million per. year to keep Romo protected and have a stable run game, 8 million is a bargain.

We pay Carr top 10 cornerback money. Yet that doesn't seem to have affected us one bit.
