You are taking uncertainty and waving your hands at your preferred outcome. Anyone can do that.
He has never had anything approximating the OL he has in front of him. Ever since Veldheer left two years ago their mediocre OL went into the toilet.
And yet other RBs have ran behind bad lines in the past and have found success: Lamar Miller, 31st ranked run blocking line, 5 YPC with over 1,000 yards. McFadden's problems are not with the line, it's his health and his declining abilities.
This isn't about predicting the future, this is about getting bodies in here to make the future a little bit brighter or having some common sense as a coaching staff. Have a little more security at the RB position. You have two RBs known to be busts: McFadden and Williams. One has done nearly nothing as a starter outside of a single season, the other has played in 5 regular season games since being a pro. The others are either pace changers or play a single role. Why not bring in a back that has had similar production to McFadden in the past but not as severe injury history? Like Randle? Okay, fine, how about AT LEAST getting a guy in here with some more experience instead of rolling with Dunbar behind him?
That's the issue. Pessimism and optimism about the future of these backs doesn't matter, look at history that is really the only indicator for now. Our coaching staff and owner has done a terrible job with fixing this RB situation; whether it's arrogance or oversight, I don't know.
