Offense:
So four extra games of Dez
LG being Leary instead of La'el, but every other member of the Oline was still the same.
McFadden averaged 86.7 rushing yards per game after he took over as the full time back. Our rushing game was really good, had the 9th most yards in the league despite having only the 18th most attempts.

Defense:
McClain got hurt at a position that was manned by Nick Hayden the year before.
Had both Rolando and Lee that year
Greg Hardy played really well for us
Scandrick was replaced by Byron, who was the 2nd highest rated 1st round rookie that year

We were 3-1 with out starting QB, and 1-11 without him.

So tell me. The 9 game upswing from 2015 to 2016, who made the most difference?

Was it Collins to Leary?
Was it 1,000 yard rusher in 10 starts McFadden to Zeke?
Was it getting old Scandrick?
Four more games of Dez?
Getting McClain back?
Losing Hardy's 7 sacks?

Or going from the worst passing DVOA collection of three QBs to a good QB?

All of the above (except the "good" part). We were better at QB, there isn't much doubt, but we were bottom of the barrel in 2015. Even a moderate improvement at QB (one who defenses weren't accustomed to) is a huge difference.
Dez was a lot more than just the games he didn't play. The injury was there all year in 2015.
Yes, the rest of the OL was the same, but Leary was a huge part of the unit. He's a huge part of why 2014 and 2016 were such dominant OL performances.
The running game was okay some times in 2015. It was a pale imitation of what we have with Zeke, or had with Murray. It's not close...at all. The 2015 team had 1890 rushing yards, the 2016 team had 2396. That's an increase of 26.7% In 2015, they had 8 rushing TDs. Zeke had 15 in 2016 (they had 24 overall).
There's a reason Zeke is an all-pro, and McFadden isn't even an afterthought.
Scandrick was the starting CB and main slot guy on 3rd down. Byron played safety and helped on TEs. He was not a replacement for Scandrick.
Hardy was productive for about 2 weeks, then the drama resurfaced and he didn't do much of anything. He had 6 sacks total...3 in the final 10 weeks. Benson Mayowa had 6 sacks in 2016. The defense as a whole had 5 (16%) more sacks in 2016.
Mcclain (Rolando) missed games from suspension (as did Hardy) and wasn't nearly the player he was in 2014. His head wasn't in it.
McClain (Terrell) played in 13 games in 2014 and started 15 in 2016, and just 2 in 2015.
Also, a huge part, was the actual implementation of misdirection (the success of which was mostly because the defenses focused on Zeke).

QB was a factor...but it was FAR from the only one.
A lot of games were pretty close, and even a small improvement could change the record pretty significantly. Add all of it together and it was a very big jump in 2016.

Every year the last game of the season we had an opportunity to take the division current there was always something going bad at the last moment. I'm not putting the blame on any one particular. But I no longer have those expectations of failure when something goes a little bit backwards. Since Prescott's been the quarterback I no longer have those expectations. If anything he's really proven when the game was on the line you can trust in him

They had to give somebody that award LOL they all stunk up the field that day obviously you have no idea. Cowboys have on him his entire career. Nick Foles LMAO

Career numbers

Statistics. LMAO watch the game see with your own eyes what's happening. Nick Foles LMAO stop it you making me laugh. There's a reason why the Eagles let him go and it wasn't money. They panicked every game he played

If the the Patriots cornerback doesn't drop the interception late in the fourth quarter Eagles lose.

You’re right why bring statistics into a discussion when apparently you can see with your own eyes the truth. I’m disappointed when the facts get in the way of someone’s narrative, but carry on.

Tell me the Eagles weren't playing with half a field most of the season. Tell me their special teams weren't the reason why they made the playoffs in the first place then tell me it wasn't the running game that actually won that game. And then maybe I'll believe anything you say

There is also a propensity for large yardage plays, that are meaningless, at the end of the first half as well.
The entire game is a reflection of play making ability. There is a tendency of people to place an undue overabundance of value on later parts of the game (or half). The rest of the game is just as important.

that's seriously questionable given the reality of sensible FOs and those which change schemes every 3 years

if the QB spends 80% of snaps putting square pegs in round holes ... all the generic stats tell us is how well they did something that didn't make sense in the first place

Say what now?

It's not questionable in the least, it's logical. Schemes and "square pegs" are entirely different discussions.

Remove Nick Foles name and insert Dak Prescott and the narrative would be 100% different, a complete 180.

You will have to explain that because it doesn't make any sense. Are you saying we have great special teams. Are you saying we have a running game by committee

the last response to you you're consistent hate of Prescott is already known. LMAO

I don't hate any player, but you do have an agenda.

Put Dallas in Philadelphia's position. Romo is Wentz, Prescott is Foles.

Foles took over at the end of the season, led them to the playoffs, then the SB and wins MVP. If Prescott was in that position your attacks on Foles play and subsequent MVP there would be a stark difference on your opinions. You platitude's would be unending. Prescott(Foles) would be a god.

And of course, if anybody disagreed with you, they would be haters. Because we all know, only you know everything and can be right.

And I don't speculate. I don't do the what ifs my opinion Nick Foles sucks I said the same thing about Colin Kaepernick they should have kept Smith. I said the same thing about RG3. Although I thought he was likely to make it. Yeah I think Prescott's a winner you don't like it it's not my problem

See if there's a difference consistency I said since Nick Foles first game I thought he was a lollipop interception machine. And anybody that knows me from the old Cowboys fan forum would back that up. So again keep your assumptions to yourself. Unless you have factual information

Simple question, would your response be the same if Prescott had achieved what Foles achieved?

If Prescott was working with half a field. And he didn't go on Long sustain drives. Yeah it would be. I slammed Prescott plenty 1st quarter 2nd quarter 3rd quarter. But he makes me eat my words in the 4th quarter. I don't like eating my words.
