Wow. Another Merriman/Ware thread. Can't say I'm shocked.

I watched Merriman during the Colts game. He ran many times untouched to the QB, and all of a sudden he's all world. When they accounted for him, he didn't do much. I don't understand the fascination.

You've said this on every Merriman/Ware thread so far, and you're not right yet. If you watched the Colts-Bolts game, you'll see that Merriman ran over their tackle TWICE to get to Manning. And he was in their backfield on a regular basis. When he wasn't he was occupying more than 1 guy, allowing the rest of his teammates to get into the backfield.

But, please, continue spewing this uninformed drivel.

Man, you cannot tell who will be the better player after 1 year.

With that said, I remember reading this article by JJT a while back about Newman and Kevin Williams, DT for Minny.

What the future holds: Stewart is playing for San Francisco. Parcells wanted to draft a big, run-stopping defensive tackle two years ago, but the Cowboys didn't want to draft Oklahoma State's Kevin Williams with the fifth pick. Dallas has two first-round picks in the 2005 draft, and you better believe one of them is going to a player who can fill this gaping hole on the roster.

nice to see after one season you've determined ware is a bust. good thing you did'nt have a say so in troy.first of all this little rumor by a guy who has no inside info is just that a little rumor.second ware is far from a bust and in 3 yrs we will know who was the better of the 2.if after 1 season we decided who could play and who could'nt favre, brady, young, would have all been cut. canton would be an empty place if football people thought like you

Paul Pierce from the Celtics? did you mean Peerless Price?

Well, they've both had about the same impact on the Cowboys season, so I can see how he'd get confused.

What's it going to be then, eh?

It was not their tackle, but rather their left guard, Ryan Lilja. If he ran over Tarik Glenn, that would be real news.

It don't take me longs two make up my mind.

Plus I watch games and see how Ware look covering Cooley (a bum in his own rights) in last game.

What an embarrasment he made of himself as Cooley-- who never was nothing before but a jokes and wouldn't even satrt for us-- made Ware look like a crying baby wityh touchdown tosses of many times while Ware looked lost.

BUST!!!

I all see that Merrimans much better than Ware ever goings to be with big sack. Much sick it make me to pass over next great linemans of defense.

Now find out that Parcells wanted Merrimans even more than Ware and JJ make him to take him as pick in draft. Much disgust at JJ and spit at him too!!!

See here to read...

Old news......

Replace the two and Ware would excel in Wade Phillips 3-4 schemes, and Merriman would be average in Zimmer's 1st year 3-4 schemes. We can draft all the talent we want, but it does no good if they are not going to be used properly.

Why do people consider themselves Cowboys fans and then gloat about how they think we picked a bust and Merriman is an instant hall of famer?

I will never understand this.

The guy actually takes pride in the fact that he thinks Ware is worthless.

I not gloat! Just respond to other person with fact of my knowlege and smartness on football observation.

As far as taking pride I just was a fan of Merrimans from the jump and cheered on through his whole career-- I'm an amature scout-- while he was at Noter Dame.

I knew he would be a great one before others even realized it first.

Postons....mini camp hold out....training camp hold out for the first week.

Doesn't take a genius to work out why Merriman wasn't drafted.

Why do some people let these trolls get them so riled up?

If someone seems so stupid that you can't believe it, don't. That's a troll looking for attention. If everyone put that poster on "ignore" they'd go away rather quickly.

This particular troll is funny, though, and he actually posted a legit quote. Most people take issue with the CBS quote, not the "amature scout." LOL
