Here is the big picture which you speak of. 2 playoff wins in almost 20 years. 0 Super Bowls in almost 20 years. guys like Romo and Witten don't have time for Jerry and Stephen, to keep waiting and waiting, and kicking things down the road.

I'm on your side to an extent. I want these players to win a SB, badly. The other side of the coin (for me anyway) is not only do I want a SB, I want a team that stays competitive to win it for years to come. I don't want all these years between playoffs and SBs. I think everyone just got used to Jerry's ways and are having a hard time to adjusting to the new way, the right way.

Exactly no franchise needed.

That's Jerry and Stephen's fault. they did not have to franchise Dez. they could have extended him. but they chose not to do it. just like if Murray leaves, they chose not to pay him. just because the cowboys think they made a fair offer to Dez and Murray. does not mean the players think it's fair.

So far, Murrays offer might not be to far off. Plus Jerry has said they have wiggle room.

To be fair, they weren't looking for Dez money either. That's a harder nut to crack.

True but your likely talking a difference of 3 mill annually and 7-10 mill more in overall guarantee money. Either way this team is in a position similar to the colts and they need to get the def side taken care of at this point. If Murray can't find a suitor by Sunday bring him back for 3 yrs at 3 mill per year. The defense needs the attention and you can't put all that pressure into the draft.

It's getting pretty obvious that none of the contenders want to break the bank for Murray and he doesn't want to play for joke franchises like Jacksonville or Oakland.

I rate the chances of his return at 80% right now for $6-$7 million per.

Let me break a llittle news to you. both the Jags and Raiders have been to and AFC championship game, since the cowboys last went to the NFC championship game. in fact Oakland has been to a Super Bowl and AFC championship game. if those teams get enough good players, they can win.Jerry and Stephen, and some of our fans need to get off their high horse.

I loved watching Murray play for us. He will always be a Dallas Cowboys. He is a smart guy and understands the NFL as a business. On average RB have a short career in the NFL. He knows this. He should/will look for the best deal. Just like if you were offered a whopping offer for you services in whatever you do, you take it. Especially if you have the tools to succeed and there is guaranteed money! The organization you leave will be upset at the hole you left, perhaps call you unloyal. The individuals who work there will be happy for you. Same scenario. He deserves a fair second contract after his performance on his first. If you were offered a ridiculous contract because of the limited supply of individuals who have your track record, so be it. Hope he lives up to his new contract. I wish him all the success wherever he goes, unless it affects the Cowboys negatively. Even if he ends up with the Eagles, I will not be upset at him. It will however sting significantly.

LMAO

The Raiders have not had a Winning season since 2002.

The Jaguars have only had 3 Winning seasons since 2002

The Cowboys have had 7 winning seasons since 2002 And this includes the Campo Year and Garretts three 8-8 seasons.

Every time I look at who is coming out this draft at rb (DJohnson, Ajayi, Gordon, Gurley, Coleman, Yeldon, etc.) and Dallas' needs on Def... makes me almost wish Dallas could do one of those sign and trade NBA deals with DM lol!

Quite honestly. It's 20 years.

They could win SB 50 and dismantle.

Winning SB is more important to me than being competitive for a few years. We've had that for a while now.

I like that they are trying to use a blueprint now BUT I agree with you on time due to Romo. The guys window is small and unless you get lucky, getting another top QB quickly doesn't just happen. So that begs the question who are you slow-playing/saving it for?

Never said they were HIGH standards.

But comparing the Cowboys to the dysfunction that has been the raiders and Jaguars.... As Ocho Cinco used to say....Child Please.

Would love to sign Murray for a low-guaranteed money deal, even if $7M-$8M cap hit this year, and draft his replacement in 2nd or 3rd round (Ajayi, Yeldon, Johnson, Coleman, etc.). Then cut him next year when we have to sign Dez to a long-term deal. And have his replacement with a year under his belt of learning pass pro.
