It's really saying alot to say that Spencer will be DROY because you have guys like Gaines Adams, Jarvis Moss, and Jaamal Anderson that is contending for that spot in DROY.

Even though I am glad we took Carpenter, I still feel that Wimbley was our guy and would have fit better in our scheme. Too bad Cleveland took him first.


Bradie certainly had more production than Ayodele, but also hurt the team in coverage situations and by being out of place at times. I think the best scenerio would be to bring in James in short yardage situations in place of Ayodele (starter) and to start Carpenter along side Ayodele with Burnett replacing Carp in passing situations. A good rotation of the LB corp should give us fresh legs in the 4th and late in the season when we usually break down. A quick look at our LB production with Merriman and Wimbley thrown in for kicks.

I felt like Ayodele did a good job in coverage towards the end of the year. I think he'll find a way to stay on the field no matter what system.

Don't forget that Wade is very good in forcing matchups with TEs and RBs. Ware or Spencer should get a lot of those like Merriman always seem to get.

Who? Spencer? The guy that put up 30 reps of 225 and can bench press of 525 lbs.?

The clips I saw. He engaged with a few linemen, and got no push. Only got the sack bc the QB rolled out and he chased him down.

His coach (Joe Tiller, who has sent like umpteen trillion DEs to the pros) said that he'll be better in the pros because he won't be able to bull rush tackles on every play -- he'll be forced to use his speed and agility, whereas in college he could just simply overpower tackles.
