Twitter: Melton in Dallas meeting with Cowboys did not sign with Seahawks

Everything I'm reading is Jernigan can also play the 3. From McShays mock

Timmy Jernigan
COLLEGE: Florida State
Class: Jr
HT: 6-1
WT: 299
POS: DT

Analysis: Donald is a great fit here if he drops, but Jernigan brings a lot of value as a 3-technique defensive tackle in this system as well. He is very strong and quick versus the run, and I love his motor and awareness -- he just isn't as fast or smooth as Donald. The Cowboys need help all along their defensive line and in their secondary, and Jernigan could come in and make an impact.
Because Mcshay knows all. Sorry but I just don't see what marinelli describes as a tampa 2 rushman at the 3 tech in Jernigan. I'm not of fan of Jernigan as the 3 in this s heme but I will hold judgment until the draft to see what marinelli believes

What Marinelli considers a 3 is different than others. See Sharriff Floyd.

I would offer 5 year 60. Doesn't matter, it's the guarantees and how it's structured that matters. I just hope we don't guarantee alot and structure it right if they do sign him.

very good. but that's a little high. You cant do a 20 million signing bonus

I don't approve signing this guy. He's the quintessential athlete whose surroundings play a heavy influence on his play.

When he was at the UT country club, fans used to call him SHElton b/c he was big but soft. Then he goes to Chicago where defense is a fabric of that franchise and his talent flourishes.

I don't see that happening again in Dallas. Not with Jerry meddling, Jason providing nothing, very few strong leaders in the locker room...Marinelli is here but its not enough. I don't trust this guy to bring it like he did in Chicago.

But he's a dog zordon. He's got the teeth to prove it........:D

If this is your stance, then anyone that comes to Dallas will not be any good.

Yes, whenever I evaluate a NFL vet, I put a great deal of stock in nicknames he was given in college by drunk students.

Just be glad he didn't use Washington as leverage. Seattle at least won't inflate his price far above what should be paid.

I think this is the one signing Dallas really wants and has been saving its money for. I'm sure the hope is the team can get him and still have money left to spend on a quality end, but I think Melton's the priority.

You have a point. I can't see Seattle overpaying that much since they have a lot of free agent to be's next season that need to be paid. But since Seattle just won a Super Bowl, just the simple fact they are courting him can drive up his price because they think if Seattle has a lot of interest, he must be someone worth signing.

Will Sutton in 2 or 3 would make more sense.
