Merriman suspended

So you'd take Merriman and the 4 game suspension and a threat of a one year suspension over Ware who hasn't been tested positive??

Good to know. Glad you're not in our front office.

Unfortunately, Bob Dole is not a psychic, and thus cannot tell the future.

Bob Dole would take the PLAYER Merriman was, meaning what he did on the field, over Ware.

Obviously, if Bob Dole knew at the end of last season that Merriman would get suspended for roiding this year, that would not have been the case.

Congratulations, you win the "Most Stubbornly Obtuse Guy On The Internets" award.

Well done.

Sorry, I think that award still goes to Katr.

If the previous poster was correct and 6 players were randomly sampled in a week, and 16%-33% were testing postive we are looking at a huge problem in our game.

6 on each team.

Oh my!! The mental image I just had of Reno in a thong may have me sleeping with the light on tonight!

Can't find it in the dark?

:D

This is a much larger issue than 'i told you so, we made the right decision. parcells+scouts are right, anonymous internet poster is wrong.'

After an October 10th, 2006 visit to congress, Roger Goodell was quoted as saying "I don't think [steroids] is a problem," and promising to enhance and update testing. Well, since that visit 3 players have already been suspended for steroid use, Matt Lehr (16th), Shaun Rodgers (18th), and of course Shawne Merriman (today).

If the previous poster was correct and 6 players were randomly sampled in a week, and 16%-33% were testing postive we are looking at a huge problem in our game.

Goodell does look like he's making a rookie year stand, doesn't he?

Maybe he should get a special DROY himself.

My apologies Waffle. I was out of line.

Because you can always be better, or at least that's what athletes think.

Barry Bonds was a hall of famer without steroids.

But not a home run champion......or a champion with or with out.....Weak arguement

Spin control.

You already said you'd take the roiding Merriman over Ware. Now you've changed your tune.

Convenient.

No that wasn't a Zebra that just ran through the living room, it was just a horse with stripes.

Where is this Mort report? I've been watching ESPN and have seen nothing even mentioning it.

It's okay, Hos. Alba in the bikini more than offsets the alternative.

Well.. I directed the question toward Bob Dope earlier and he conveniently just skipped that post.

Anyone have info on how many players have tested positive for steroids thru this season and the last few seasons?
Wish there was a list of them posted somehwhere.

I love how the "Merriman over Ware" agenda has now been so defeated, its proponents are now resorting to include Michael Irvin into their arguments.

Yeah, that doesn't make any sense.

Merriman cheated so his past performance go away. But at that time, noone knew about the roids. They were just evaluating what they saw on the field. Nothing is wrong with that.

Now we know he was on roids, and that changes things alot. But those people shouldn't be looked at as wrong and stupid for thinking Merriman was better. That argument doesn't make sense.

At that time, they might have been right. Noone knew he was on roids.

Its not Ware's performance that makes Ware better. He hasn't changed. Its Merriman's cheating that makes Merriman look worse.
