Micah, can you just be a bit more humble?

All possibilities includes favorable outcomes not just the negative ones you are wringing your hands over.

And what negative outcome do you see for Micah commenting about Jones being kept in too long? The Jets keep Wilson in after getting sacked 7 times too? Or heaven forbid the say things back?
*sigh*

Isn't that why I guestimated and said, "Out of 100 possibilities, 3 of them include a world where Micah's predictions come true...and 97 where they don't. " All probabilities are not 50/50 coin flip. What is the "probability" that an asteroid will hit the earth tomorrow and wipe out life? It ain't 50/50.

I see your point on that. I saw an SI article yesterday proclaiming: “Micah Parsons calls out Giants Coach!!” It was about the statement he made about how it was wrong to keep Daniel Jones in so long. (Which is correct). But I see your point that it may make him and/or the team waste too much energy and deal with distractions. The media vipers are waiting and ready to pounce for clicks. But I still don’t interpret it as cocky, arrogant.. just naive. All the kids nowadays do this. They have no boundaries on privacy, communication, etc. Different generation for sure.
I agree with you this is not a character flaw of Micah...he's just young. Ignorant (without knowledge). He doesn't understand how his words can and will be used against him. It's like the guy who gets arrested and talks to the cops without a lawyer. What could go wrong? Well, if you got the wrong cops, prosecutors and you are in the wrong jurisdiction...a lot.

Micah is king of the mountain. Let him have his fun. If he starts to suck then he needs to shut his mouth. Unless he has won a super bowl. Then he can keep talking.

...and stop commenting on social media about work-related issues? Every other day, there's a new story about what Micah has to say about whoever/whatever. Wish he would just shut up and play football, which - undeniably - he does extremely well. I just think he puts a lot of bad karma out there.
As long as players are staying out of legal trouble, avoiding suspensions, etc., I don't really care what they do when they are not playing. I mean, giving me all the bragging in the world over an arrest, PED suspension, etc.

Perspective is important.

This is NOT TRUE. Do you think other people on the team won't have to answer for what he said?

Professional athletes have MASSIVE EGOS and are notorious for taking seemingly innocuous quotes into a rallying cry. This is why Belichick has the rule: "If you talk to the media, talk about you. NO ONE ELSE." That's what Micah should be talking about...what HE can control.
Other people like who?

But it's not independent!!! C'mon...sounds like you do have education, but you don't have EXPERIENCE. Apply your education to the real world...that's the point of it.

 and you are the worldly one.

I'm from Texas and regardless of where I am in Texas, banter and trash talk is a way of life amongst men. It doesn't bother me at all.

In fact, I have found that I can take advantage of it. For example, at the poker table if I want someone to bet at me, I take a guy like you that is bothered by such behavior and I make eye contact with you and laugh on a beat. That makes them predictable. On the one hand, I cannot bluff him but if I have the nuts I have a much better chance at a payout. I learned that quite by accident but it has served me well.

At the end of the day there is more than one way to skin a horse. I am a huge Spurs fan and that franchise has enjoyed two of the most historic Silent Assassin types in NBA history with Gervin and Duncan.

Gervin talks about how he became the Iceman at Eastern Michigan. He got caught up in the trash talk and got carried away. It took him out of his game and they lost. He vowed to never get caught up in that again and remained stoic throughout his career. That was wise. If you get carried away and lose focus then keep your mouth shut.

In contrast, Duncan was asked about his stoicism and he just said he wasn't any good at it so he did not do it. Again, wise.

At the same time two of the biggest smack talkers in the NBA were Jordon and Bird. Bird used to tell his opponents the play beforehand just like Larry Allen with his choo choo. You cannot argue their success.

If Parsons starts to lose focus because he gets carried away and it loses them games then that is one thing. But OTOH if he gets teams to overadjust to his presence and triple team him giving his team and advantage like we saw in NY this past weekend then thank you very much can I have another.

There is, it's just not controlled by a universal force. It's called "get back". Things will come back on you more often than not. Not "always"...but balance of probabilities, chimpanzees that abuse their power or talk to too much crap...end up being shunned or abused by their fellow chimps. Is Micah immune to this rule?

People in the past weren't humble/modest because it was the "right" thing to do, it's the SMART thing to do.
Goodness. Where to start with this. ;)

I'm living proof karma/get back/things will come back to you, etc, isn't real. I've been forgiven for all my past transgressions. I sincerely feel bad for people who don't know about the gift of forgiveness, and they go through life thinking something bad is/will be/could be coming back to them for their troubled past.

I don't believe that, and I don't think Micah believes we are chimps either. So no, he won't be shunned by us all. Proof is in this thread and in their locker-room.

I don't know if everyone living in the past was humble. And you don't either. Something tells me that people like Genghis Khan, Mansa Musa and Augustus Caesar, were humble. There's no such thing as time travel so I know you didn't come back to educate us all on everyone being humble back then. Did you? Lol

You wishcast that but as I pointed out the sample is not sufficient. He's unarguably one of the most dominant players in the NFL. I have no problem with him leveraging that as long as he keeps his head straight and eyes on the prize.

non sequitur. Micah being dominant does not make him immune from all the forces that can make his smack talk look ridiculous. It's a ridiculous follow up to a half-baked "argument".

As a former religious person, don't mix science and faith. You have FAITH in Micah that doesn't mean the odds, time or history is on his side.

You just said you changed your ways. I already conceded there is no universal constant called "karma"...that is ridiculous. But the notion that you got away with something so bad people can do bad things ...or more accurately ignorant young people can get away with youthful arrogance is not even intuitive much less true. This is why society's are built on people telling the truth, not because it is divinely inspired, but any society built on falsehoods will crumble under its own weight. Is that "karma"...not in the sense where people make anthropomorphize karma, but it is karma in the sense the word is used everyday.

If he's destroying other teams along the def players.. let him? You forget how good Richard Sherman was and how big his mouth was. He backed it.
