Zeke's contract is basically $3 million if he plays every game.
He got a $600k signing bonus, $1.55MM salary if he does not get hurt before the season starts, $850k roster bonus or $50k per game.
He can earn another $3 million in incentives for yards from scrimmage and playing time. It is graduated but basically if he gets 975 scrimmage yards he gets $300k. If he gets 1475 yards from scrimmage he gets $1.5 million. There are intermediate targets between those points worth $300k each.
He can earn another $1.5 MM if he plays 70% of offensive snaps. ($300k for 50%, and another $300k for every 5 percentage points over fifty up to 70%.)
The Patriots really protected themselves with this contract. I am sure Dallas could have come up with a similar contract to keep him, maybe even for more money. Clearly, they want to move on.
Based on his history, Elliott should get some of the yards from scrimmage incentive money. Last year in 15 games he had 968 yards from scrimmage. The prior year he had 1289 (worth $900k on his new deal), and in 2020 he had 1317 in 15 games (again worth $900k)
The question is how much will the Raiders play him. I suspect he will not get more than 55% of their offensive snaps and if he gets hurt and misses a couple of game he won't get to 50%.
