That sounds nice and all, but most of these millionaire players don’t care about rivalries as much as fans do. We have cared about our respective teams a lot longer than just their few year stretch on it. A player here or there may take it to heart, but most don’t. Sad but true
Now more than ever, it's a BUSINESS to them. Players move from team to team going for the cash. And i guess who can blame them. You'd like to get the maximum pay in your own line of work too. And especially if your line of work has a limited shelf life.

Micah went to Penn State.

Where is Penn State located?
He went to PSU for less than a quarter of his life. He grew up in Harrisburg.

I've always called the town at PSU State college.

Generally, people on the east side of the state root for philly, and people on the west side root for Pittsburgh. Maps can always help for distances between locations on a simple scale:)

Here is an interesting concept... sometimes fans of your "bitterness rivals" are actually OK people and can treat you with respect. I think the same can be said of professional athletes. The few select kids who become NFL stars probably eat it up going back to their home. Without looking at the stats, I'd be certain that Texas is up there on the percentage of kids who play in the NFL vs other states. Micah made this news because he is a now pretty much a star in the NFL.

Please note, I'm not originally from Pennsylvania, but I did go to high school and college there.

There are no rivalries anymore! Thats what sucks about the NFL. Players hugging and exchanging jerseys, changing team names because it offends certain people. The circus called the SB. The NFL has gone from a game with true gladiators to a bunch of wwe performers. Most of these players are all friends and it's all about the money.

News flash, professional sporting events have ALWAYS been about the money from day 1.

Why do you think Jerry has been so successful?

Ever follow hockey? You have a higher percentage of players born outside the US who play in the NHL than US born players (and that's EXCLUDING Canada LOL).

Yes it has always been about money but it use to also be about winning a SB. Now players and owners are content to put a competitive product on the field and no longer strive to be the best team in the league. For the players and owners the team can lose games but the real win is producing money by people in the stands and sharing revenue.

The issue is that you're using Jerry Jones approach to pro football. There are some owners IMO in the NFL that care more about winning than marketing.

I get the fact that the Jones football team apparently has the "most value" per any team money wise in the market, and Jerry is a wizard at making money for the Cowboys and the NFL, but at the end of the day, even the WORST valued NFL team is going for about 3 BILLION dollars. For perspective, a million seconds is 12 days. A billion seconds is 31 years. The cowboys haven't won any superbowls of late, but they are the highest "valued" team at 8 billion dollars.

Far from Philly. That area is Steelers land. But I'm pretty sure he's a Sixers fan though.
State college is pretty much in the middle of nowhere in the "northern middle west" part of the state. 2.5 hr drive to Pittsburgh and a little more than 3 hours to Philly (mostly due to highways and traffic). As noted, anything "west" in Pa you have more steelers fans than eagles fans. However, Harrisburg is definitely philly area.

You also have to remember the scale of the state. Texas is over 261k square miles vs Pa's 44K square miles.
