This was yet another example of the FO misjudging talent.
It’s what they’re best at.

They also have a fetish for signing guys coming off injuries.

We got 73 catches, 840 yards, and 6 TDs out of Gallup after signing his deal.

Meanwhile, Amari Cooper in his two years since leaving has 150 catches, 2,400 yards, and 14 TDs.

Seems a doggone shame that his career was cut short by a knee injury.

Here's wishing him a fortunate and happy life throughout his retirement.

When healthy, he managed to enjoy quite a successful career, anyway.

And there are idiots on here still defending that ridiculous trade.

Best wishes to Gallup.

Gosh what a mistake re-signing him was.

Hopefully the FO has learned that you should not sign guys coming off an ACL injury to a long term
Deal.

As great as surgery and sports medicine has gotten, you still just don’t know. Some players are still never the same post injury.
Jerry did that deal in his late 70s. He won’t learn anything.

I actually thought Gallup was getting better towards the end of last year, but he was way too timid in 2022, letting defenders swarm the ball and getting easy picks.
But he did seem to be getting his moxy back at the end of last season.
The Raiders may have asked him to do things he just couldn't do and wasn't asked to do in Dallas.

He got paid right before they traded Cooper because he was complaining .

Duh?
How old are you to finished sentences with a “duh?” In them?

I asked you a simple question. Cooper leaving here had nothing to do with Gallup.

At the end of the day Gallup was 12 million a year. They thought they got a bargain same reason they signed Jaylin Smith. Amari was always gonna be out of here they were never keeping him and Lamb around together.

MG had plenty of talent. Desire to play and be great was his problem. Once he got his bag, he was done.
Will Parsons do the same?

Will the desire match the talent is always a question so is the FO intuitive enough to judge these personality traits?

Parsons is an open book and giving people plenty of clues to what his priorities are

This is very surprising. Gallup is still a good receiver. He made so many acrobatic catches over the years for Dallas. To retire at 28 is shocking. I wonder if he has some lingering issues with his knee. I hope he has something lined up after football. Good luck to him.

Gallup was one of the good guys in the NFL. Wish him well as he moves into the next phase of his life.
Unfortunately, he simply lost the plus athleticism he needed to be an NFL WR.
