im talking about Mike Williams the offensive lineman

Easy mistake to make, say Mike Williams and bust in the same sentence and no one is going to think of anyone but the WR :laugh2:

Does any college in the country produce more overhyped busts?

For a bunch of overhyped busts they sure whooped OU's butt pretty good.

Texas like a lot of big schools produce busts because they they get seen every week and their guys get overhyped. It also helps that they win every year.

Ohio State, Florida, Texas, USC ... big time programs are going to produce hits and misses.

UT has about 40 NFL players currently in the league.

I'd say it is fair to assume most of these big name school guys are about a round overrated. If you take the same player and play him at a team ranked 22nd or so but no higher during his 4 years he'd go about 1 round later. At least that is the argument these big schools use in the living rooms of the kids they recruit.

Huff and Hamlin strike me as the same kinda people, and I have learned to hate Ken Hamlin after last year. So I'll pass.

all schools produce busts. all the big programs produce more busts because they have more players enter the NFL and thus a higher probability of busts.

I know you are enjoying this, since he is a former Longhorn. Meanwhile our ex Sooner went from being a future HOFer in his first 3 years to M.I.A. in his last 3.

BTW, Jammer had a rough beginning to his NFL career, but has turned it around and is now a quality CB.

Huff has started out slow. He is a good kid with a good head on his shoulders. I think he would do well in SD, NE, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, or Philly
Are there any pro-bowl caliber players from Florida? I can think of some from almost every other big-time program.

From UF recently.....

I cant think of any...

Here are some average to decent ones in last ten that come to my head.

Fred Taylor
Riddell Anthony
Jevon Kearse
Mike Peterson
Reggie Nelson
Lito Sheppard
Channing Crowder
Alex Brown

Bums
Kenyatta Walker
Keywan Ratliff

I think Harvin is going to be a stud. A faster Steve Smith. Id cut TO for him in a heart beat and I am not a TO hater. It would improve the franchise for years to come

My goodness BD, did you ever hit a nerve with Horns fans.

Wow. Even after you denied being an OU fan they still had panties in a wad.

Go ahead and list the busts. Ill wait.

Agenda much?

Kelly Gregg is a starter. And Roy starts for us when he isn't injured. But you didn't include him, either.

He was injured this year and placed on IR.

Gotta love these Texas homers.....

sure could have fooled me, but that doesnt matter. I listed OU players to give something to compare and contrast. I could have listed Nebraska players, but that would have been worse.

btw, I stopped wearing panties last year. You are a mod?

you are right. Williams is a starter. That doesnt change the point at all.

as far as an agenda, I think that would be Dakota that brought the agenda into this thread. I was responding to him, and with facts.

Gotta love these Texas homers.....

I love it when Cowboys fans call each other "homers"...but that's better than being called a "homo" though I guess

btw, Tom Landry was a "Texas Longhorn homer"...so was Tex Shramm

No I love the minor league homers. There is more equivalent major league talent on the Pawtucket Red Sox than there is on either UT or OU.

Then there is the travesty of those same players getting a scholarship that equates to less that $40k while the Big 12 has its own sports network and multimillion dollar TV contracts.

The NCAA makes me sick.

Yeah, but he didn't give credit to OU and people still really got ticked off.

You weren't alone in singling him out as an OU fan so I don't know why you feel so guilty.

I say that statement about panties or undies in a wad all the time and have said it about myself so don't get them in a wad again.

No, I am not a Mod but am on the staff.

I think it was his anti-Texas agenda and the Bradford picture on his signature

if he isnt an OU fan, he's a Texas hater, so he has something in common

lol that's true. I dont care anyway. That wasnt the point.

Obviously not.

Failing to mention Roy and Kelly as starters isn't "factual."

It's misleading. Or agenda-driven.

Not including all of Oklahoma's starters in an effort to "prove" something.... ROFL.
