So he was innocent, I remember certain posters already putting the blame on him
This smelled like a money grab from the get go.

But he created this problem with his multitude of previous indiscretions. No accusation seems too far-fetched.

You're innocent until proven guilty unless you've been guilty so many times, it's logical to assume the opposite.

Reputations matter.

It was you I was discussing this with, right?
You said that NFLN has “already decided”? As you had. I’m happy to see his professional life wasn’t ruined.

If it wasn’t you then my bad.
I was supportive of NFLN but I don’t recall using “ already decided”.

Didn't think he had a case against Marriott. If anyone owns a business and thinks someone is harassing their employee they have the right to eject them and ask they not come back. But a case against the NFL Network might have been a different thing and with Marriott as an official sponsor of the NFL, it might not be far fetched that the NFL did a pass-through settlement to end things and Marriott is also happy because they don't have to devote resources to a lawsuit about a dinky drunk encounter. Glad it didn't cost Mike his job but man he needs to be more careful and guard that dream job with all he has.

It doesn’t necessarily prove he’s innocent, but that Marriott couldn’t prove he did anything wrong. Only Irvin and that woman know what happened.

ALWAYS defending the system...

BOTH Marriot and the NFL (NFLN is just a minion) arrogantly thought they could do as they wished and there would be no consequences.

Marriott's position from the very start was dubious. They didn't even turn the video over when they were supposed to even after a judge ordered them to.

Actually it's surprising that they settled because Irvin's case was exactly easy to prove either.

Well, you said they’d already decided while I said I hadn’t heard that. I also said that you had already decided. Which is true and still sounds to be.

Past hookers and cocaine parties was your reasoning, (I guess) however he’d never been accused of harassing a woman and that was the accusation here. Eyewitnesses said they didn’t see evidence of what she accused.

Maybe you rushed to judge.

It wasn't Mariott's place to prove anything. It was Irvin's team who brought the suit. The burden of proof was with them.

Marriott really had no choice but to settle with him, because the accusation got him suspended from NFL Network and could have cost him his job and career. Marriott didn’t handle the situation properly from the get-go. Nothing in the video showed that Irvin did anything wrong. The woman even shook his hand after their conversation. There was no visible reaction from her that he said anything inappropriate. Plus there were eye witnesses that backed Irvin’s account.

Settlements are to make the suit go away. It does not imply guilt or innocence.
But the fact that two major networks stood by him through the accusations says something about how they felt and what their investigation about the incident uncovered.

In this day and age with public pressure and how the behaviors she was accusing are so frowned upon it says quite a lot.
